Alden?

Thoughts on the boy's name Alden (pronounced All-den)? Is it too close to Alton and therefore might cause "Alton Towers" teasing? Do you think it sounds nice?

I think most names have the potential for daft-but-not-offensive nicknames or teasing such as Alden Towers but I can't see anything that would make a child's life miserable about it.

I guess we all have our preferences, it just doesn't sound very appealing to my ear? I have a feeling it could be frequently mispronounced and become a ball-ache. Each to their own though!

I have a nephew called Alden. He had an American parent, but lives in the UK. His parents wanted to call him after an American hero - he was nearly Buzz! - and Alden is Neil Armstrong’s middle name.
He has an American parent - still alive!

Anyway, he’s 10. No name related issues that I am aware of.

I went to school with one (in the 80s) but haven't met another one since. Not keen on it personally but it's not a terrible name. It was pronounced the way you want it to be.

I think Alden is a nice name.

Misread it as Aiden.
Pronounce it as Al-den.
