We can't seem to decide between these girls names:

Briar
Rhiannon
Lydia
Hope

Love all 4 of them, but need some help deciding. Thanks!

Thanks for the opinions, they seem very mixed and based on personal opinion, which is obviously expected.
We've also just come across the name Nesrin, which I think is beautiful. It means Wild Rose.
What does everyone think about it?

I LOVE Briar
It's unusual but easy to pronounce

KirstenBlest · 15/04/2022 14:26

Briar - too naturey for me but quite nice
Rhiannon - ruined by people saying Ree Annun.
Lydia - will be Lyds
Hope - hopeless

I like Briar best. It's a strong name and sounds fiery (probably because it rhymes with fire Grin)

Rhiannon is OK.

I can't help but think of Lydia Chlamydia when I see Lydia (thanks Mumsnet). I like the similar Linnea though, which has en earthy feel to it like Briar.

I'm not a fan of Hope and it's a big name to live up to. She could view it as toxic positivity if she's naturally a negative, or even realistic, person.

Lydia or Hope. Really dislike the other 2.

DramaAlpaca · 15/04/2022 13:20

Lydia for me, too.

Rhiannon is beautiful, but only if you are Welsh and can pronounce it properly.

Hope is nice but can sound unpleasant depending on accent. 'Ope isn't pretty. It would be a lovely middle name.

Briar, just no. It's sharp and ugly. I don't like it at all. It's especially bad with the middle name Rose.

I like Lydia best
