Dated or due a comeback?

I love it. For me, it's in the same category as solid sensible names like David and Simon.

SpringLobelia · 15/04/2022 17:43

I like it. My cousin named her DS Peter after her DH's husband's father. (12 years ago). Everyone was a little Hmm because it was the age of Joshuas and Finns and Olivers and so on. My cousin said that nobody in the school (except for teachers) were called Peters. The name has hugely grown on me. Babies are very cute as Peter. Toddlers are adorable as Peter. Little boys are adorable as Peter.

Padderbadger · 15/04/2022 01:58

I do think it's a little dated as there were so many peters at school with me in the 90s

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 15/04/2022 00:20

Love it

Marmite27 · 14/04/2022 23:08

DC2 would have been Peter.

Ikeameatballs · 14/04/2022 23:07

So due a comeback, it’s a great name!

bloominglovelyorange · 14/04/2022 21:41

Great name. Definitely due a comeback

overitall1 · 14/04/2022 16:05

I know loads, my dad (late 80s) two BILs(60s) and my boss (early 40s) oh, and my first love 😉

Nuffalready · 14/04/2022 15:59

I've got a teenage one.. .... knew of one other boy at Primary called Peter also. Have no regrets and he's happy with it, everyone can pronounce it. He does have a very different non- English middle name from my side of family as a back up plan if he ever tires of it and wants to reinvent himself...

resm · 14/04/2022 15:44

I really like it!

Cindie943811A · 14/04/2022 15:10

When I was young Peter was the name of strong adventurous characters in books and films.
I think it’s a great name and with no nerdy overtones.
I’d go for it if you both like it’s no negatives

Roselilly36 · 14/04/2022 15:10

I love the name Peter, gorgeous.

Greensleeves · 14/04/2022 15:10

I loathe it because of a personal association, but there's nothing wrong with it. A bit wet-sounding.

Hobbesmanc · 14/04/2022 15:09

Peter, David, Michael, John - all great classless ageless names. But not the short versions - Pete. Dave Mike- unclular names

DisforDarkChocolate · 14/04/2022 15:07

Excellent name.

autumnboys · 14/04/2022 15:04

I like Peter. One of mine has it as a middle name, as it was my Dad’s name.

darlingdodo · 14/04/2022 15:03

Great name.

Amdone123 · 14/04/2022 14:56

I love it. I'm mid 50s and grew up with lots of Peters and Pauls. It's a classic name.

KirstenBlest · 14/04/2022 14:50

Good solid name. Means rock or stone
