In the third trimester now and we are no closer to deciding on a girl's name (we haven't found out the sex). I'm interested in opinions on:

Emmie (possibly Emmeline as full name although we would never use it unless she wanted to when she was older)
Isla
Amelie
Lola

We already have a little boy with a short first name. Thank you!

Out of those id pick Isla
Definitely not M.E

I like Emmeline.

You've got a short list now so I'd wait until baby is here and see what works.

We didn't find out the sex with either of ours. We had a boys name set both times but a short list for girls. When our daughter was born she didn't suit our front runner Eleanor at all! So we used another name on our list which was perfect for her.

I like Emmie, but not Emmeline.

I don’t think any of those are great. They’re all soft sounds, dated, and not much style -to me.
Emmie is nothingy. Emmeline is a bit flouncy too, and surely dated. The Emmelines I know are 30.
Isla is too bland for me, but popular. It’s OK, the best of this selection.
Amelie is very dated, and wrecked by popularity and mangled accents.
Lola -again, too nothingy for me.

I just hear M.E. with Emmie, which is not great..

Amelie. I know a lot of Islas and Lolas. I like Emmeline nn Emmie but I have a weird aversion to naming a child with a nn or calling them a full name you’ll never use.

They are all nice, Emmie with Emmeline is my favourite. Easy to spell, easy to say/won't be mispronounced, cute and not overused!
