Zipporah

SpellitwithaY · 03/04/2022 18:56

Esther is a wonderful name. It's mine and it's nice to have a name that's uncommon but still known if you see what I mean... I love it!!!

Gonnagetgoing · 03/04/2022 18:45

Yohanna, Tabitha, Prudence, Ruth.

I’ve got no idea what middle names work with which name really.

Gonnagetgoing · 03/04/2022 18:43

Esther, Lydia, Faith and Maria.

I’ve known girls by all those names and they all suit them.

felineweird · 03/04/2022 18:41

Bethany!

Ellmau · 31/03/2022 19:40

Phoebe and Lydia are both lovely. What about Priscilla?
Bethany as mn for Lydia?

Other middle name possibilities:
Rose (for Rose of Sharon)
Faith
Hope
Grace
Beatrice/Beatrix (means blessed)

SilenceOfThePrams · 31/03/2022 11:14

I prefer Mary to Maria but from your list, Lydia and Miriam would be my favourites. Don’t particularly like Tess for Esther; I think people might assume she’s a Theresa.

Have always liked Tabitha. Keren would spend her life explaining she isn’t Karen I think. Phoebe is a lovely name but a killer when learning phonics!

And I’d love something like Lydia Faith or Miriam Joy.

Do like Martha too. And Rebekah.

PainterInPeril · 31/03/2022 10:47

Damaris

organicoatmilk · 31/03/2022 10:04

I love Esther and especially love the nickname Tess. Maria would be my second pick.

Esther Penelope
Esther Chloe
Esther Juliet

Maria Valerie
Maria Florence
Maria Jasmine

BooksAndHooks · 31/03/2022 07:58

I like all of those although Faith and Maria blend in a bit much to stand out.

Not from the bible but what about Trinity?

jamjarjo · 31/03/2022 07:55

I know a Zillah which I always think sounds very pretty

Theoldwoman · 31/03/2022 07:37

@Pandypuff

Phoebe Martha Esther (nn Tess) Miriam Lydia Faith Maria

What do you prefer and why?

And what middle names would you put with them?

I prefer Phoebe and then Lydia.

Phoebe Isobel
Martha Lillian
Esther Charlotte
Miriam Kate
Lydia Grace
Faith Annabel
Maria Elizabeth

SilenzioBruno · 30/03/2022 09:36

Esther is lovely. Esther Abigail.

If you would consider 'virtue names' like Faith, how about Patience?

SumAndSubstance · 30/03/2022 09:30

I know Phoebe is in the Bible, but that wouldn’t be my first thought when I heard it; to me it’s a Classical name. Similarly, I would say Faith is a religious name, but not Biblical as such. Nice names though!
I love Esther and Miriam. Tirzah?

DogsAndGin · 29/03/2022 21:01

Phoebe - favourite
Martha - a very sensible boring child
Esther (nn Tess) - too dreary
Miriam - too old
Lydia - nice
Faith - it’s ok
Maria - too old

Tsuni · 29/03/2022 18:53

What about Keren?

Theforest · 29/03/2022 16:50

@EnglishRose1320

What about Jemima?
Definitely. Nn Mina.
TinaTurtle · 29/03/2022 16:45

I like Noa. To my ear it is pretty but not frilly. Not super popular (in the UK) but not weird. Goes with my surname, which is a 'Mac' name.

gingerhills · 29/03/2022 16:42

I love Ruth. Mainly because she is my favourite woman in the bible. Such a cool, stylish name. Esther too. Great name and namesake.

Mary or a version of it? Maryam is pretty.

Adventing · 29/03/2022 16:39

Faith would be better as a middle name I think. Love all the others esp, Phoebe and Esther (I like Tess as a nickname too), I think Esther goes best with your DCs names

londonmummy1966 · 29/03/2022 15:27

If you want religious names then you could go for puritanical ones rather than biblical ones so Grace, Faith, Clemency, Constance/Constanza, Felicity, Hope, Verity, Honor, Trinity, Charis, Sophia, Fidelia, Theadora, Angela/Angelica, Christine/Christina/Christiana, Justine.

Petesbowtie9 · 29/03/2022 15:06

Levi

EnglishRose1320 · 29/03/2022 15:04

What about Jemima?

ButterRose · 29/03/2022 15:01

Personally I love the sound of Phoebe Maria, I have always loved Phoebe as a name close second would be Lydia Grace then third Faith .....I can't immediately think of a middle for her

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 29/03/2022 14:56

I love Sheba but apparently it's too cat connected. Pah.

I like Phoebe best from your original list. Really love Tamar from your discounted list.
