I knew an ocean. He pronounced it oh shawn

Doveyouknow · 26/03/2022 15:01

Oisin is sort of similar sounding..

contractsandnappies · 26/03/2022 15:00

I love the french version, Océane, but that's a girl's name so not sure about Ocean for a boy. How about River?

Luredbyapomegranate · 26/03/2022 14:59

It’s not out there when it refers to the sea.

But as a name it really is stupid.

Hugo is great, you can’t go wrong.

I personally like Atlas, not everyone will, but if you want something big and unusual it might be it. Atticus might be better mind you.

Hendrix is just a bit daddy is a muso and thinks his kid is an extension of his hobby

Ashton is v undistinguished, like Kayden or Kyle or something. I wouldn’t.

KylieCharlene · 26/03/2022 14:58

I'd find introducing myself as 'Ocean' very embarrassing.
I'd go so far as to say it would negatively affect my mental health.

Hugo or Ashton are both quite nice.

Good middle name

DPotter · 26/03/2022 14:56

Cross post

Hugo is much better

DPotter · 26/03/2022 14:55

Please don't use this word as a name for the most precious being you will have in your life.

It's not a name, it's a word for a geographical feature, a large body of water.

Lurking9to5 · 26/03/2022 14:54

No, very dated. Perceived to be a bit jaded and rough in France.

Hugo is a much better choice.

Other ideas:

Atlas, Ashton, Oakley, Hugo, Hendrix

Posted previously about Hugo but I’m not sure on it.
