Sibling name for Emilia Aurora

MrsIndecisive2 · 25/03/2022 15:08

Hello,

I am looking for sibling names for my Daughter Emilia Aurora. My surname is short (4 letters).

Names I like so far are;
Girls; Reeva, Elodie, Sienna, Rosie, Alba, Selina.

Boys; Zayn, Blake, Archie, Beau.

I had a hard time naming my 1st child and slightly annoyingly most people mistake her for Amelia when introducing her. My middle name is Dawn which was my reasoning for having Aurora (I wanted Aurora as her 1st name but my OH didn't like it). Although neither if us personally know an Emilia or Amelia we have been told that the name Amelia is very popular so looking for something a little more unique for our 2nd. Considering Alba as it also means 'Dawn' Please could I have your thoughts on he above names and also any ideas of fresh names. Lookinf for 1st abd 2nd name combos. Thanks :)

Im not wanting to be negaitive but really....Beau....as in Beau Peep....he'll not thank you for that when he goes to school

Each to their own I suppose but they all sound a bit pretentious to me.....Im a bit old fashioned though.....

Reeva - I'm not a fan. I think Raya is lovely though and sounds similar. There is the Disney movie so people may assume a Disney link though with Aurora. I have only ever met one Raya and she was a lovely, fiesty little thing

Elodie - not a fan, I prefer the similar sounded Melody

Sienna - I really dislike this, but if you like Sienna you might like Savannah or Anya / Enya - they have a similar vibe to me

Rosie - I like it as a NN but would choose a full name personally. I really like Rosa, Primrose and Rosalind
Alba - it's nice enough, seems a bit faddy. Astrid could be another option
Selina - pretty, I like this. I also like the similar Serena

Zayn - it's just a bit meh and the spelling seems a bit down-market. Zane or even Zain would be better but it's not a name I like

Blake - not a fan either sorry

Archie - it's ok but if you are worried about popularity I would definitely avoid

Beau - again it's ok but I'm not sure I would be happy being a grown man named Beau. Cute on a little boy. Brody, Bodhi, Rory have a similar vibe.

I’m in liverpool ! I know I feel Reeva has very mixed opinions but I just like the fact it’s a bit different but still pretty .
i know of two siennas myself . It’s so so hard . When are you due ? I’m 2o weeks

MrsIndecisive2 · 14/06/2022 04:22

Sure is! Are you based in the UK? I loved Sienna for my first baby but I know 5 Sienna’s born within 3 months of her! It’s strange because Sienna was showing as number 24 on the charts and Emilia was number 28 but I literally don’t know any babies or older children with that name; which is why we went to it. I also loved Harper but again know a lot of babies recently born with that name. I don’t know any Reeva’s although people do like to tell me that they hate the name. I think it’s lovely and special meaning as we live by a River. Isabella is beautiful. Our family pet is named Bella I’ve always loved that name. Where I am there are not many Isabella’s but this may be regional? Good luck and congratulations on having another Princess x

@MrsIndecisive2 we definitely have similar tastes . My first daughter is Lucia . I have found out I’m having another girl and I’m thinking it will be Reeva . I love Isabella but it’s so common isn’t it and I also love Sienna but again quite popular . It’s hard !

Marcipex · 12/06/2022 01:23

Isadora Lucinda
Isla Scarlett
Dahlia Faye
I really dislike Alba. Sorry but it just makes me think of 🍳

Blake Roman and Zayn Roman are fabulous, or Zak is more mainstream.

Iliada · 09/06/2022 10:57

If you like Alba, which is lovely, you could also consider Alborada which is a poetic Spanish word for sunrise.

PoemBeatrice · 09/06/2022 10:06

Elodie -> M-L-O-D or Melody

I like Amaya

TheGetaway · 09/06/2022 04:38

I also like Roman

Beau Roman

Theoldwoman · 09/06/2022 04:36

The only Emilia I know has a sister called Aurora!

I like Rhiannon.

TheGetaway · 09/06/2022 04:35

Sienna Elodie

Beau Archie

mathanxiety · 09/06/2022 04:31

Emilia and Sienna sounds like a lovely combination imo.

I like Beau from your original list.

I really don't like Parker, Blake or Zayn from your current list. They sound quite Anglo Saxon and way too modern beside the classic Emilia.

Roman is nice and shares the soft Italian sound of Emilia.

Would you consider:
Oliver
Oscar
Samuel
Frederic
Theodore
Ivo
Leo
Louis
Gabriel

bloominglovelyorange · 07/06/2022 22:18

Roman is probably more popular than you're wanting @MrsIndecisive2 . It's so trendy- the top fastest rising boy name, risen hundreds of places in official ONS charts to be top 30 but still rising so looks set to be top 10 in the next couple of years. Avoid the name if you're wanting anything even remotely different.
I like Blake, Parker and Zayn

MrsIndecisive2 · 07/06/2022 20:52

I’m still undecided!!!

Names I’m liking now are;

Emilia & Elodie
Emilia & Sienna
Emilia & Rose
Emilia & Indie

Emilia & Savanna
Emilia & Orla
Emilia & Ruby
Emilia & Amaya

for boys;

Emilia & Roman
Emilia & Blake
Emilia & Zayn

@MrsIndecisive2 I just thought I would hop on and say are we same person 🤣 I’m having my second girl and my top choice is Reeva or Selina .
my favourite boys name is Blake and Zayne and my daughter is called Lucia 🤣🤣

Rockmehardplace · 31/03/2022 00:00

Alba is lovely. Or what about Stella or Seren for a girl? Seren is welsh for ‘star’.

Soren or Beau for a boy.

knowinglesseveryday · 30/03/2022 23:50

Alba means sunset. Aurora means dawn.

Crispynoodle · 30/03/2022 23:20

Orion for a boy..

MrsIndecisive2 · 30/03/2022 23:14

I should probably add that I'm London based 🙂

Rosalind Miranda

Jasper Francis

ButterRose · 30/03/2022 03:30

Roxana also means dawn as does Zora/Zorina, Zerlin or Oriana. Danica means morning star. Alba means white as far as I know but it is pretty same with Orla it means golden I think. Arla means early and Liane is daughter of the sun.

Boys names
You could go Lucian, Finlay, Elio, Altan, Sampson with similar meanings or Brantley (Brant), Callan, Merritt, Miles, Niall, Piers, Raiden, Rueben, Sorin, Trenton, Vaughn, Wesley, Willem

wizzler · 30/03/2022 03:30

Will you be naming dc2 with a reference to your oh as dc1 has a reference to your name?
I like Ivo for a ds and felicity goes nicely with Emilia I think

Marty13 · 30/03/2022 03:15

Roxane means dawn in persian apparently so I'd suggest that as a middle name.

For a first name I like Lucia a lot. Lucia Roxane ?

For a boy, I like Zayne and Blake. Not keen on Archie (it's a pet peeve of mine but I can't stand diminutives used instead of a name). And Beau is a bit short, I prefer 2-3 syllable names as they give you more options for nicknames and sound less snappy.

In a similar style I'd suggest Zachary. Or, as you picked two Roman names for your daughter, if you want to keep that tradition going, I'd suggest : Antony, Magnus, Marius, Roman.

Marty13 · 30/03/2022 03:01

Are you sure about Alba meaning dawn ? To the best or my knowledge it means white in latin...
