Onthegrid · 19/03/2022 07:21

Nola

Nora feels a bit more fresh and modern than Orla which seems a bit more of an everyday sort of name, but they are both lovely. And Orla Guerin is a great namesake.

Nora Batty. Orla is lovely.

I like them both! They are both lovely names. I think I prefer Nora slightly more than Orla.

GeneLovesJezebel · 19/03/2022 07:08

Nora. Much less used than Orla, and nicer IMO.

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 19/03/2022 07:07

Orla is beautiful. As is Orlaith?

Nora just makes me think Nora Batty sorry!

Mouthfulofquiz · 19/03/2022 07:05

Nora and Orla are lovely names! I would lean towards Nora I think. It’s a lovely name for a girl, teenager and woman as well as cute for a baby!

Alrightqueenie · 19/03/2022 06:48

The Nora I knew changed it to Noreen because she was fed up of being called Nora Batty!

MrsLegend · 19/03/2022 06:43

I like both but there are a few Orla's where we live so Nora would be nice.

Just be prepared that the older generation will refer to her as Nora Batty!

orla

tulilp · 19/03/2022 06:32

vote for Nora here! There is a lovely children's book about 'noisy nora' and it always reminds me of that

Jamn50 · 19/03/2022 06:27

Orla is lovely. I know a little girl with that name

Flatandhappy · 19/03/2022 06:23

Orla is one of my favourite names, not too keen on Nora.
