Similar names that you love and hate

I was thinking how strange it is that we just know whether we like a name or dislike a name and how there is often not much rhyme or reason to it.

Are there any names you love where there is a really similar name you dislike?

For example I like the name Lara but I dislike the name Laura, and I like Eve and Ivy but dislike Evie.

These are so interesting! With some of these posts I have the exact opposite opinions to the pp which I find quite amusing.

Just seen an advert for Pandora and it made me think Pandora is quite a cool name but I find Dora very dowdy.

I like Annie but not Anne or Annabelle
I agree with pp that I like Daisy but not Maisie
I like Georgia but not keen on George
I like Alexandra but not Alexandria
I like Molly but not Millie
I like Mia but not Maya
I like Hallie but not Hayley
I like Ayla but not Isla

I think Julia is a beautiful name. Julie is awful.

Keira is meh. Cara is lovely.

The oddest... Shawn is good. Sean is bad. Literally sound the same out loud.

I quite like Craig. Greg... Not so much.
