What does everyone prefer?

We also like Lily so we would have Lily for short.

Lilly Anne?

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 19/03/2022 13:15

I always like the idea of Lilith as Adam's first wife (who refused to be the good subservient one, and so got replaced). Strong and fiesty.

organicoatmilk · 19/03/2022 13:05

Sent to early.

Definitely would not choose Lilith, even though I think it sounds nice. I think most people know Lilith as the demon.

organicoatmilk · 19/03/2022 13:03

Definitely not Lilith...

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 19/03/2022 12:48

I love Lyanna, but pronounced Lee-anna, not Lie-anna.

Also (I know it's not on your list) how about Lilith?

TashieWoo · 19/03/2022 12:17

I am due a DD in May and she is going to be Lilianna (pronounced Lily-Anna), mixed reviews as is normal but nice to see that some people like it! Lilian is my grandma’s middle name and her middle names will be Joan (other grandma) and Catherine (dh’s great aunt).

Caneloalvarez · 19/03/2022 12:03

Another vote for Lianna with that spelling! I know a lovely Lianna and she doesn't shorten it to anything

organicoatmilk · 19/03/2022 11:53

Lillian.

What about Liliana? Smile

Flidina · 19/03/2022 00:12

How about Liliella or Liliella, different spelling? Not keen on Lillian, but like Lillyanne

Firebird83 · 18/03/2022 23:49

Lilian

Vampirethriller · 18/03/2022 21:09

Lilian.

abitfunny · 18/03/2022 21:07

Neither. Lillia. (Lil-ee-ah) my friend named her daughter it & I think it’s so beautiful!

emmathedilemma · 18/03/2022 15:04

Lyanna might be taken to be pronounced as ' Lie-Anna.'
How is it pronounced?? That's what I'd have gone for!
Lillian is dated but not in a trendy way to me and Liliana just has too many vowels. Just use Lily.

BattledoreAndShuttlecock · 18/03/2022 14:58

There are two Lyannas in Game Of Thrones - they both die young but heroically. they're both awesome, and they're sufficiently obscure that nobody who would think negatively about the reference would spot it anyway.

Nice name IMO

Concestor · 18/03/2022 14:50

Lilian is spelled with one l.

How about Lilia?

HeadPain · 18/03/2022 14:27

Lillian

greenteafiend · 18/03/2022 00:37

I like Lianna, but spelled like that.
Lilian is OK.
Lilianna is a bit chocolate-boxy.
What about Lilith or Lia?

Sarcobaleno · 17/03/2022 22:41

Lilian is beautiful. Liliana is too much.

SundayTeatime · 17/03/2022 22:24

Lilian - one L.
I like Lily, though
Lilias is the Scottish form of Lily. Any good?

tearinghairout · 17/03/2022 22:21

Not keen. Fag-ash Lil. Haven't heard of the other one. Lily, though, is gorgeous.

Babdoc · 17/03/2022 22:19

Lillian is probably due a revival. It was popular a century ago, and usually shortened to Lil.
I had a Geordie aunt Lil, born in 1903. Think it was quite popular in the East End then too.

RaraRachael · 17/03/2022 22:17

How is Lyanna pronounced - Lee-anna or Lie-anna? If it's to be the first one, it might be better spelt Leanna

lottiegarbanzo · 17/03/2022 22:16

Or Lilia, that's really nice.

lottiegarbanzo · 17/03/2022 22:15

Lilian or Liliana

Or Lyla / Leila

Lyanna sounds made up and like 'Lie-Anna'.

ConfusedFlower · 17/03/2022 22:11

Thanks we are leaning towards Liliana and Lilian at the moment Smile
