Middle name for Hannah

DD is due any day now and she is going to be called Hannah. This is a definite so am not looking for other first name options thank you Smile

However, I am doubting our middle name choice. It took us ages to find one we both like and we eventually picked Lucy but I’m increasingly unconvinced. I love the name and the meaning but I don’t really think it “goes” with Hannah, especially as she is having both of our two syllable surnames and it feels weirdly rhythmical - and not in a good way.

So I think we need either a 1 syllable or 3 syllable middle name, without too many “a” sounds.

My list so far (all of which my partner has vetoed) are:

Hannah Grace
Hannah Rose
Hannah Beth

Hannah Emily
Hannah Isobel
Hannah Penelope

Any other ideas? His main issue with the 1 syllable names is that they are often used as middle names and the 3 syllable ones make her name too long Hmm

Or maybe I’m overthinking this and Hannah Lucy is fine.

Alot of thinking is certainly going on!

I think a one syllable if you are giving her a hyphenated surname.

We have a Hannah Jessica in our friend group. Love this combo.

Congratulations OP!

Caramelcap · 21/03/2022 10:30

Hannah Jasmine was my top girls name

BeyondMyWits · 21/03/2022 08:33

We have a Hannah Rose... she loves her name, she's an adult now, but has loved it all the way through her life so far. It was not a filler, her Gran's name was Rose.

stickygotstuck · 21/03/2022 08:28

Hannah Rose.

There was a Hannah Rose in DD's after school activity, who went by her full name as there was another Hannah in the group.

I always thought it sounded beautiful like that. It helped that she was lovely too!

My boys were going to be Hannahs. And then I had a girl and called her something else because I felt Hannah wasn’t “new” for her. Hormones. If I had a baby girl tomorrow I’d have a Hannah.

Anyway.

We’d have chosen between Hannah Elizabeth or Hannah Catherine.

DogsAndGin · 20/03/2022 20:02

Hannah Penelope

Luredbyapomegranate · 17/03/2022 22:30

I’d ditch all the Rose, May, Grace, Hope names - so dull.

Hannah is a beautiful classic, but you maybe want something to jolly it up:

Hannah Chloe
Hannah Zoe
Hannah Lucy
Hannah Sophie
Hannah Jocelyn
Hannah Evelyn
Hannah Caitlin / Catrin
Hannah Lois
Hannah Carys

Or if you want to stick to classics
Hannah Frances
Hannah Rachel
Hannah Margaret
Hannah Charlotte

WeasilyPleased · 17/03/2022 22:08

I dislike Lucy for personal reasons so ignore my views on that!
I know a gorgeous Hannah Meredith and I think that sounds beautiful.

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/03/2022 21:38

jynnerso · 17/03/2022 19:08

I think Rose is lovely with Hannah.
My name is Hannah. My middle name is Jane, which is a family name but my mum used to call me Hannah Jane as a term of endearment and I always really liked them together.
But any combination you choose will be lovely, because you chose it and took the time over it and it will mean something to you.

TheGratefulBread · 17/03/2022 18:33

Hannah means grace in Hebrew. Therefore the name Hannah Grace is basically naming a child Grace Grace!

ISmellBurnings · 17/03/2022 18:18

Hannah Lucy is nice.

To be honest, Rose/Grace are just filler names massively overused. Every girl has them.

Before I opened your thread, from the title I thought 'Hannah Grace would be gorgeous.

Actually, I like all of your choices apart from Beth, which doesn't sound like a full name to me.

RedPinkRose · 17/03/2022 17:12

Hannah Lucy is lovely, nice and soft. Off the top of my head I think Hannah Rose has a nice flow to it.

Fizzbo · 17/03/2022 17:08

My new niece is Hannah Kate (Kate being her Grandmother’s name).

RestingMurderousFace · 17/03/2022 17:04
