Love the name but feel it's a bit too popular, DD1 is Etta any ideas for DD2? Thank you!

I know a baby Edie - other names on her parents' list were Eliza, Penelope/Penny and Audrey.

I wouldn't say it's particularly popular, is it?

I wouldn't either, but it does look and sound similar to a lot of popular names (Ellie, Elsie, Edith, Edith, Ada, Evie).

OP, do you want something similar or contrasting with Etta, and in what way? Unusual? Classic? Something else ending in "ie"?

I think Edith nn Edie is great, but I wouldn’t use it as a full name. It’s not that popular is it? Also like the German form Edita - Dita for short?

otherwise Stella, Clara, Aphra, Amy, Jocelyn, Zelda, Lois, Frances, Cleo, Juno, Oona, Nancy, Margot, Ellen, Esther, Georgia, Dora, Catrin, Astrid, Ida, Dorothy nn Dora or Dorey, Verity, Constance nn Connie, Sarah nn Sadie, Annis, Thora

I wouldn't say it's particularly popular, is it?

I only know one, age 1, and I'd never heard of it until then. It sounds a bit nicknamey to me - I would have assured short for Edith or Eden.

The one I know has a sister called Sophie.

DefaultParent · 15/03/2022 18:21

Eden?

SallyWD · 15/03/2022 18:21

I actually know Edie and Etta siblings with a sister called Ida.

I would have had an Edie if ds2 had been a girl - it's not at all popular where I live. If you love it you should use it.
Otherwise:

Eve
Ida

Edie is so beautiful though!
Maybe Maeve, Mary, Ada, Maude, Polly.

I like Edith though I know that’s a very marmite name here
