Following on from my other thread I've amended my name choices.
I'd appreciate help/advice on which is nicest.
Middle name would be Jean (named for my nana I can't compromise on this).
I'm half Korean so have picked some Korean names too this time as well. I could add the Korean name as another middle name after my nanas though:
Bae
Chin-Sun
Minji
Moon
So-Ok
Sailor
Ember
Cherry
Magnolia
Bronte
Sage
Venus
Yes I've ditched Apricot & taken on board some of the advice you ladies have given me I appreciate it x

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Rosenborg · 11/03/2022 16:49

Cherry 😍

Gonnagetgoing · 11/03/2022 16:49

@nutellingyou

Ember Moon Brontë Are all good. Elba or Alba might be nice alternatives to Ember.
@nutellingyou - Alba is what a friend called her daughter.
Gonnagetgoing · 11/03/2022 16:48

@2orangey

Any of these are lovely:

Azaelia
Ember
Sage

And then one of the Korean names as a middle name. I think you would need to ask Korean speakers for advice on chosing those, as English speakers just relate it to the closest-sounding English word.

Ooh how about Azalea Jean Sage?
Gonnagetgoing · 11/03/2022 16:48

Azalea is lovely as is Sage.

I'm not keen on some of the Korean names, Bae, Minji etc. I think they'd work much better if you lived in Korea, but if you're living here not really!

My friend's name is YaeRi - she's Koean.

But I like Azalea the best so far!

Strokethefurrywall · 11/03/2022 16:47

Love Sailor, Brontë, Story, Ember, So-ok.

Sailor my favorite!

ThelastRolo20 · 11/03/2022 16:47

I really like Sage, Moon, and Bronte - agree with not minji :)

DogsNotMen · 11/03/2022 16:47

Cherry, Ember or Azalea

Sage Jean is far too similar to Sage Green, which is a colour.

Apricot has actually really grown on me since your first thread!!!!!

NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 11/03/2022 16:47

I like cherry, mind you could be mistaken for the French cherie.
Hate the others sorry.

Since reading this thread I can't stop thinking about Sailor Moon and I'm wondering whether I should watch some episodes.

nutellingyou · 11/03/2022 16:45

Ember
Moon
Brontë
Are all good.
Elba or Alba might be nice alternatives to Ember.

@Moonbelly

Hey *@Spaghetti0h* I just want to say how awesome I think you are for taking this all so well. I'd have been really upset. I think you are going to be a fantastic mum.

I think my favourite of your names is Bronte but you and I have very different name tastes. :) Rock on!

Thank you so much thats really kind of you to say I appreciate it xx

Cherry, Magnolia and Azelia are my favourites.

whatajuckingfoke · 11/03/2022 16:40

Ok, so you wanted opinions.

Bae: Isn't this what teenagers call each other these days? 'My Bae'? Or am I thinking of something different?

Chin-Sun: I am unsure if the meaning of this one in its native area. Neutral on it. If it's pronounced as it's spelled, you'd have kids saying 'On yer chin, son!'

Minji: If this is also pronounced as it's spelled you cannot use it in the UK. A minge is a vagina!

Moon: To pull a moony is to bare ones arse! Wouldn't use.

So-Ok: Assuming this is also a Korean name and am unsure how it's pronounced.

Sailor: Do not like, it's an occupation not to a name. Would you name your child plumber or builder? No, you would not.

Ember: Why bit Emma or Amber? Not keen.

Cherry: Fairly inoffensive name, but teens will persist in jokes about popping cherries!

Magnolia: Is also a boring boring paint colour. May as well use Beige.

Bronte: Neutral on this. I wouldn't use it but it's inoffensive.

Sage: As above. It's fine.

Venus: Rhymes with Penis, pretty much. Don't do that to your child.

SignUpNow · 11/03/2022 16:34

I really like Cherry and Chin-Sun is nice from the Korean names.

No to Bae & Minji . They don’t work for the UK at all.

justforthisnow · 11/03/2022 16:34

Is your partner named Elon perchance?

Moonbelly · 11/03/2022 16:34

doadeer · 11/03/2022 16:33

I think Bronte is nice.

Please not Minji - the bullying will be relentless

For ember - I'm sure she will spend whole time correcting people thinking it's Amber

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 16:33

@BrutusMcDogface

Please take on board what everyone has said about Minji/ mingey, though.
Yes I will thanks I'll get rid of that one then x

Cherry Jean is beautiful.

Halllyup17 · 11/03/2022 16:31

I like Brontë.

I don't think you can use any of the Korean names in the UK, sorry, but certainly not Minji, So-Ok or Bae.

Magnolia is a paint colour, not a name.

Venus is a stripper's name.

Soubriquet · 11/03/2022 16:30

I’ve just seen the other thread and I really like Story

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 16:30

@TheSunWillComeOut2moro

Just name her Charlotte or Isabelle, no child wants to be called Moon Shine Minge.
Stopppppp 🖐 🤣 That was harsh but funny.
