I really like it but prefer Roksana

Seashor · 09/03/2022 20:10

Dreadful.

TidyDancer · 09/03/2022 19:28

I love it but the Sting connection ruins it for me.

yourestandingonmyneck · 09/03/2022 19:20

I think it's tacky.

I've never known one, other than Roxy in Eastenders, and obviously the Sting song.

Don't think it's a nice name for a little girl.

dollymuchymuchness · 09/03/2022 19:18

Love it and Roxie.

MissMaple82 · 09/03/2022 19:11

I really like it

Duckandsarah · 09/03/2022 19:11

This was in the running for my DD as I love Roxy.
I’ve never heard the sting song so never had that association. Just the surfing brand.

brokengoalposts · 09/03/2022 19:09

My cat.

emmathedilemma · 09/03/2022 19:08

Awful
And now i have an ear worm!

bloominglovelyorange · 09/03/2022 19:03

Love it
Love Roxanna too

OppsUpsSide · 09/03/2022 18:48

Love it

Hadenoughofthisbullshit · 09/03/2022 18:44

I really like it. Plenty of little girls called ‘la la la la Lola’. Though I did know someone called Eileen, who hated the dexy’s midnight runners song following her around.

Poorlyplants · 09/03/2022 18:44

Doesn’t matter how old the song is young people will still know it as it’s pretty much a classic that will span the generations and future generations.

SignUpNow · 09/03/2022 18:40

I love Roxana. Not so much Roxanne.

TabithaTittlemouse · 09/03/2022 18:39

I like it. I know one in her twenties and one who’s about 14.

Topseyt · 09/03/2022 18:37

I like it. The connection to the song by Sting was around 30 years ago now. It won't mean anything much to kids growing up today.

I slightly prefer Roxanna, but do actually like both names. Roxy is nice as a shortening for either.

PuppyPowerTool · 09/03/2022 18:34

It might be old, but my kids know the song! We're still singing Beatles tunes...#Meeeeshell, ma belle...#

HistoricMoment · 09/03/2022 18:32

I love it! Don't think many kids of her generation will associate it with a song that will seem ancient to them.

x2boys · 09/03/2022 18:32

It

DramaAlpaca · 09/03/2022 18:30

I really wouldn't.

MintyGreenDream · 09/03/2022 18:29

I like Roxy but not Roxanne

Munchcrip · 09/03/2022 18:22

Roooooxanne, you dont have to put on the red light

Is the first thing that comes to my mind

HereBdragons · 09/03/2022 18:16

The song is now 44 years old. I think her generation will consider it fairly irrelevant.

How do you feel about the nickname Roxy? Because that will definitely happen if you name your baby Roxanne, unless you preempt it by calling her ´Annie’ or ´anne’

PaddleBoardingMomma · 09/03/2022 17:53

Roxy is as lovely without the connotation around to.

I have a friend called jolene, she's very good humoured about it but quite literally every time I've ever been there when she's introduced to someone or someone over hears her name, they always mention the song. Without fail.

AhhWoof · 09/03/2022 17:51

Prefer Roxanna
