I love Lisa it’s easily the best on your list! And she wouldn’t be one of loads either. I work in a school, Lily, Mia, Elise and Ellie are all very popular. Ella isn’t too over used and is my second favourite.

Pamlar · 05/03/2022 21:40

Ella, Mia and Elise are three of my fav names

sparklefarts · 05/03/2022 17:09

Hi I'm Lisa!
I'm very dated apparently 🤣🙈

I love my name though. And would like to see a Lisa comeback!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 05/03/2022 17:05

You could go for Elisabeth (rather than Elizabeth) and use Lisa as a nickname.

thewhatsit · 05/03/2022 17:03

I’ve never known an Ellie that was actually Ellie on the birth extricate, it’s generally a nickname for Eleanor which I think is a lovely name.

Mia is nice. It’s very common now so I don’t think you have to worry about people laughing that it sounds like “miaow” - it’s hardly a controversial name.

Lisa is so very dated for me. I know that shouldn’t matter and arguable it is a beautiful name I just… can’t think of it without picturing primary school in the early/mid 90s. I don’t think there are any other names at all that are so evocative of a certain time and place for me.

FayCarew · 05/03/2022 16:47

Lisa - a bit 1970s
Lily - done to death, dislike Lil
Elise - type of car. Loads of trouble usually serious
Mia - looks nice but sounds like Mere
Ella - nothingy
Ellie - twee and nothingy

I'd pick Lisa

fantasmasgoria1 · 05/03/2022 09:20

Lisa is definitely dated. I like Elise but also Eliza is nice.

Zillamop · 05/03/2022 09:17

In order of preference

Lily - lovely
Lisa - very pretty and due a comeback. It would be refreshing to meet a young Lisa
Elise - quite like
Ella/Ellie/Mia - flimsy and overused

Sparticuscaticus · 05/03/2022 09:02

Eloise? Eliza is cute too

They're all pretty names, Lisa is very 1980s, it makes me think of blue eyeshadow and huge hair sprayed hair flick fringes that the Lisas I knew at the time had.

IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 05/03/2022 08:34

How about Elisa or Eliza if you like Lisa?

babynamelover · 05/03/2022 06:11

Elise 🙂

Leeloo1233 · 04/03/2022 21:47

Lisa is so nice and works so well internationally. It might be dated in the uk but it is defo making a comeback in the nordic countries/netherlands/germany etc.

Liv999 · 04/03/2022 20:24

Lily is my favourite, I wouldn't worry about the popularity but that's just me

ISmellBurnings · 04/03/2022 20:16

Love Elise, I only know one.

Lily/Ella/Mia/Ellie are so popular and overused. Ella is just really wet sounding, to me.

Luredbyapomegranate · 04/03/2022 20:03

Which do you like best?

Lisa, Lily, Elise, Mia, Ella, Ellie?

I like Elisa and would say it El-ee-sah - only trouble is she’ll likely end up one of a billion Ellies.
Elise sounds more dated

How about Estella?

Mia, Ellie/Ella, and Lily are all equally insanely popular so I wouldn’t. Lisa sounds dated, but more to the point blurs with the endless Lara/Lola/Leila/Leah/Lila/Lena/Lyras so I’d avoid that too.

Got any others?!

Celynfour · 04/03/2022 19:54

I teach teens and there so many of the names you mention - and they were prob the first to be called those so many more have followed .
Pretty names but well used
Lisa sounds fresh
What about
Liza
Lia
Lena
Lara
For similar sounds

RestingStitchFace · 04/03/2022 17:59

I like Lisa, it would be refreshing to find a little Lisa these days. But the rest are sooooo popular.

Seasidemumma77 · 04/03/2022 17:57

I like Lisa

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/03/2022 17:44

I think Lisa is a really lovely name and hugely underused now. At work it is the only name on your list without multiple repetitions across every year ofthe school

user375432 · 04/03/2022 17:41

Oh definitely Lisa! It sounds so fresh compared to the others which are massively overdone and due to crash and burn. Although I will suggest Elise, as I have a colleague with that name and it reminds me of Lisa (pronounced as in rhymes with lease). Louise is another suggestion that is probably due a come back and sounds fresher for a baby than Lily/Ella etc

BabyTurtIe · 04/03/2022 17:36

Melissa will be Mel most likely

Freetodowhatiwant · 04/03/2022 17:36

Lisa would be very cool! Dated at the moment but at the forefront of the likely eventual come back.

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/03/2022 17:35

I don't mind Lisa, your other choices are pretty but feel a bit past their peak iyswim.

watcherintherye · 04/03/2022 17:34

How about Melissa, with Lissa as a nn?

blisstwins · 04/03/2022 17:31

Lisa is feminine, easy, and underused. Not sure what dates means as names go in cycles, but I do think Lisa is both sweet and holds up. Very pretty, imo
