Vincent. Anthony is very 1960s

I love Vincent! Not a huge fan of Vinnie but the only Vincent I've known never used the nickname, he was just Vincent.

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/03/2022 15:20

Anthony nn Anto or Anton rather than Tony

Vincent reminds me of St Vincent d P (in a bad, Angela's Ashes type way), and Vinnie is thuggish. Also think it's being overused.

Anthony Vincent

LadyEloise1 · 01/03/2022 18:35

Anthony but "real" Dubliners would call him Anto.

When I hear the name Anthony now I think of Denise's brother in The Royale Family, Antony and the wonderful Caroline Ahearne and Sue Johnston calling his name.

Nelliephant1 · 01/03/2022 17:43

Anthony a million times over Vincent.

itssquidstella · 01/03/2022 17:39

Vincent - I like both but Vinnie is a nicer nickname than Tony.

Lemonweightloss · 01/03/2022 17:38

Vincent.
I should like Anthony as it's very much a family name. But I don't.

Lulu1919 · 01/03/2022 17:31

I'd not like Tony or Vinnie ....

LawnFever · 01/03/2022 17:25

Vincent, I think it’s really underused.

WinterOfOurDiscoTent · 01/03/2022 17:21

I much prefer Anthony.

@GroggyLegs

Vincent. Unusual but an actual name.

I also like Victor.

Anthony

DramaAlpaca · 01/03/2022 13:34

Like both but don't like any of the diminutives. They are the sort of names I'd only use as a middle name for that reason.

Yicky · 01/03/2022 13:32

Vincent

Barleysugar85 · 01/03/2022 13:29

Anthony, I think it sounds soft but strong at the same time. I like Vincent too but I'd be worried it would be shortened to Vinnie or Vince.

GroggyLegs · 01/03/2022 13:26

Vincent. Unusual but an actual name.

I also like Victor.
