I don't think I can.. but can I?

I love the name Miles and have for as long as I can remember, however I married a Moores..

Miles Moores? My initial reaction was no, no chance, I can't. But the more I think about it I think actually it's not that bad. It's starting to sound normal albeit a little quirky sounding.

Fully prepared to be told it's terrible and that I'm just desperate to use my favourite name. I'll blame the pregnancy hormones if so Grin

You missed a trick: Since you have always wanted to use that name you needed to get DH to change his surname to yours!

Or double barrel with your birth name?

Miles Smith-Moores, for e.g?

HomeHomeInTheRange · 20/02/2022 17:52

It’s like a tongue twister.

Milo Moores is good though.

Buddhabowl · 20/02/2022 17:49

I quite like it. I knew a Gwillam Gwillam once. And there is David Davis. Miles Moores will be memorable! Do it OP!

Fleur405 · 20/02/2022 16:57

Sorry but I don’t think it works. A middle name is g really going to help - I don’t know the middle name of any of my friends/colleagues, people just don’t use them in every day life.

AdaColeman · 20/02/2022 16:53

I think that Miles Moores is just a step too far!
But what about Giles? A super name with a similar vibe to Miles and works much better with Moores.

ringoutthebells · 20/02/2022 16:47

I love it! Agree quite superhero alter ego-ey but I like that!

onthinice · 20/02/2022 15:54

I like it. Prefer Milo though like a pp said.

Moonface123 · 20/02/2022 15:49

Yes, go with it.

NotQuiteNormalMe · 20/02/2022 15:47

Mile Smoores, is how my accent pronounces it. Just change your surname.

Uni90 · 20/02/2022 15:47

I love names like that . Go for it

SnowFlo · 20/02/2022 15:45

I wouldn't. Miles Moores. It does sound like a character name. It has the kinda ring the new Spiderman does - Miles Morales.

Aquamarine1029 · 20/02/2022 15:43

I think it's awful. Sorry, op. The names just don't flow well.

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 20/02/2022 15:41

Eminem? Bloody love it but have a think if you do.. He is rather.... an acquired taste!!

alisoninwonderland · 20/02/2022 15:17

@nervousseacreature

Milo Moores?
That was my first thought too!
FelicityPike · 20/02/2022 15:16

I don’t see anything wrong with it at all.

toastiee · 20/02/2022 15:12

I love a double MM but not sure on them both being one syllable. Micah Moores sounds great though?

Crunched · 20/02/2022 15:11

@nervousseacreature

Milo Moores?
Love this idea!
Mol1628 · 20/02/2022 15:09

No I wouldn’t do that.

FantasticFebruary · 20/02/2022 15:05

No, you really can't! Well technically you can, but you shouldn't. Poor kid.

NorthSouthcatlady · 20/02/2022 15:03

An acquaintance of mine called her son Max Power so l wouldn’t worry too much

clarepetal · 20/02/2022 14:40

If you like it, do it! It think it's cool!

Winterfellismyhome · 20/02/2022 14:36

Too close to Miles Morales who is spiderman in the comics :)

Juno22 · 20/02/2022 14:36

Too much like Miles and More which is a frequent flyer programme.

violetmonster · 20/02/2022 14:35

I quite like it bu it does sound very comic book character a la Jessica Jones, Peter Parker etc depends if you like that or not!

nervousseacreature · 20/02/2022 14:35

Milo Moores?
