I like vintage names that aren’t made up but not too common

I've always loved it!

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/02/2022 12:11

It’s quite nice. I think it’s getting quite popular though.

Babadook76 · 19/02/2022 00:55

@Peach2021

DS would have been Fern if he’d been a DD. I love it, feminine and strong at the same time, elegant and classy.
I’d consider fern masculine but wet at the same time, and there’s nothing elegant or classy about it. But there’s nothing wrong with it compared to any other name really, my son has one of the most hated names on mn. I’d go for it if you like it
Thedogscollar · 19/02/2022 00:51

Very nice.

NuffSaidSam · 19/02/2022 00:45

Too many celeb Ferns for me. And not really keen on any of them.

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2022 00:34

Lovely

Lovemydoggie · 18/02/2022 23:21

Beautiful name 💕

LilacSloth · 18/02/2022 23:20

Love it Smile

WeasilyPleased · 18/02/2022 22:35

Beautiful.

OddshoesOddsocks · 18/02/2022 22:32

Love it, it was on our list for DD3 who was a Connie in the end.

CaptainCallisto · 18/02/2022 22:30

I grew up with a Fern, and always loved it as a name, but hadn't heard it in years. I've had two in my classes over the last few years (one Fern, one Fearne) and it's made me really happy that it seems to be having a bit of a revival.

labyrinthlaziness · 18/02/2022 22:08

I like it, it is a proper good name

mondler · 18/02/2022 22:07

I like it. I know one in her early 40s and not met any others.

MonkeyPuddle · 18/02/2022 21:42

I love it. It was on my list for DD but we went with Tilda as it fitted with DS’s name more.

Justleaveitblankthen · 18/02/2022 21:42

What about Ferne even?Smile

ShadowPuppets · 18/02/2022 21:39

I like Fern, I had a friend at school called that. I feels in a similar vein to DD (Bryony) and what DS would have been if he was a girl (Hazel). Love strong, non-frilly nature names for girls.

HettytheHoover · 18/02/2022 21:36

Really great!

wishing3 · 18/02/2022 21:27

Like it!

cushioncovers · 18/02/2022 20:41

Love it

toastofthetown · 18/02/2022 20:35

I love Fern. It's pretty and simple. I have seen a rise in threads on Fern recently though. I'm not sure if it's because nature names are are trend at the moment or it's signalling a sharper rise in popularity than it's currently going through, but worth a mention.

KylieCharlene · 18/02/2022 20:10

I like it.

booplefloof · 18/02/2022 20:08

Love it

Classica · 18/02/2022 20:05

I like nature names but find this one a bit dowdy.

Uni90 · 18/02/2022 19:44

I have read that it was most popular after WW2 which really resonates with me somehow
