I have a Tara and want to stick with a T name. Leaning towards Tegan but also like Trinity and Trudy

Tamsin
Tilly
Thomason
Talulah
Tia
Tabitha
Tammy

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 18/02/2022 20:58

Don't go for Trinity, it sounds awful in my local accent, the second 'T' is dropped- Trin-a-eeeee

How about-

Tessa
Tammy
Talia
Thandie
Thora
Tamsyn
Thea - Th-ee-ah/Tee-ah/Tay-ah depending on your pronunciation, although 5hat brings a new set of problems 😂 I like Tay-ah

Comedycook · 18/02/2022 20:56

Thing is I'm not sure Tara and Tegan go well together. Tara is quite feminine and elegant and Tegan isn't really in the same bracket.

snoopcaatz · 18/02/2022 20:56

Tegan -no. Variations on spellings will mean it's always misspelt. Sounds like a Eastenders teen with attitude.

Trinity - no. Just no.

Tarragon - FFS no. It's a herb. End of

Trudy is nice, different and I think sounds quite individual.

Tarragon sounds incredibly posh!

Comedycook · 18/02/2022 20:51

@Blueexpress

What does the opposite of ‘posh’ mean? Like working class? Because if the glove fits and all…
If I heard the name Tegan, I would assume they were from a working class background. There is nothing wrong with that and I could always be wrong...it would just be my initial assumption. Similarly if I heard the name Arabella I'd assume they were from a posh background. There are also names which I wouldn't be able to make an assumption on...for example, Amelia could be from any class background.

It's not necessarily a bad thing either way but people do make judgements even subconsciously.

CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 18/02/2022 20:50

I really like Tegan! And I knew a Taighan who was lovely🥰 Not keen on the others

RallySooney · 18/02/2022 20:48

I know of a Tegan. Her brother is a drug dealer.

GreenTeaPingPong · 18/02/2022 20:48

I think Maya is lovely as a sister for Tara. (pronounced my - uh)

Chisandbiscuits · 18/02/2022 20:47

@clarrylove

I know a Tarragon.
Other people judge on names all the time though. It's a sad fact, but they do.

Personally, I'd go for Tessa rather than the four you chose.

Blueexpress · 18/02/2022 20:47

@SantiagoSky

Tina or Tyra?
Just makes me think of Tyra Banks

I’ve never met a Tegan. I think that was the appeal… lol. Sad that so many hate it.

wizzler · 18/02/2022 20:44

Of your suggestions I prefer Trinity
I love Tara, Thalia, Tess,
How do you feel about Edwina (n Teddy)

clarrylove · 18/02/2022 20:43

I know a Tarragon.

Blueexpress · 18/02/2022 20:40

@PlanetNormal

Tegan is, shall we say, the opposite of posh. If you don’t care about that, fine, but people will judge. Tia or Tilly (Matilda) are both nicer.
I can honestly say I have never judged a person based solely on their name.

Also like Tessa and Thea?

I agree that Tegan is the opposite of posh.

No they won’t 🙄
astoundedgoat · 18/02/2022 19:40

I know an Antigone who goes as Tiggy. Do you like that?

When I see Tegan I think of Tegan and Sara, which isn't a bad thing at all!

Trudy is very 50's, I think. Oh! Um - she was in Mad Men. The unpopular guy's lovely wife with the posh accent. Pete Campbell's wife.

Trinity is the name of a college.

Tara is lovely.
