I love Julia. My daughter was going to be Julia until she looked nothing like it! It's a beautiful name.

Although thinking about it - I suppose unlike Julia, Juliet does have the spelling issue (Juliette) which may be why it's less popular.

I'm a Julia and have always felt quite "lucky" with my parents choice - imo it's classic, very internationally well used (it's in the top 50 for girls in over a dozen countries), simple to pronounce and spell, yet it's fairly underused here in the UK.

I don't think it's dated - unlike similar Julie, it's never quite made it to the top 50 in the UK historically and I've met a few Julia's of very different ages over the years.

I do like Juliet almost equally though - actually that's the most annoying thing about the name to me, as I'd have liked to been able to use Juliet if I'd had a daughter! Grin

Lovely classic name.

babyjellyfish · 14/02/2022 15:12

Yes, it's lovely.

toastofthetown · 14/02/2022 14:17

It’s fine. Dull and quite dated, but not dreadful. I much prefer Juliet.

SatinHeart · 14/02/2022 14:04

Love it!

I quite like it. It's classic without being granny-ish.

Good classic, solid name.
Not too long.
Easy to spell.
Works well internationally.
Not one of these floppy floral wet names that are trending

✅✅✅ from me.

Motherofcats007 · 14/02/2022 08:38

I love it, it was on my short list

salcombebabe · 14/02/2022 08:34

It’s a beautiful classic name and one that’s not used very often. Go for it OP!

campion · 14/02/2022 08:27

Lovely name

AnnaSW1 · 14/02/2022 08:23

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 14/02/2022 08:11

Too 1970s for me, sorry. It was a bad decade for names imo

StopFeckingFaffing · 14/02/2022 07:45

I like it
Traditional but sophisticated

SallyWD · 14/02/2022 07:44

Lovely! I know one 11 year old Julia and her name sounds really refreshing amongst all the Islas, Avas, Evies etc.

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/02/2022 07:40

Love it! Beautiful

Avarua · 14/02/2022 03:17

Good
as long as your last name isn't Gulia

mathanxiety · 14/02/2022 03:10

A very elegant name but also has an urban vibe.
