Thoughts? Brother to Victoria.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cheapskatemum · 13/02/2022 14:38

Ah, sorry I see you meant Hunter. I still prefer the 1st 2. My parents were Humphrey Lyttleton fans.

cheapskatemum · 13/02/2022 14:33

Definitely not Hutch. I always preferred Starsky, but I wouldn't name a child that either.

Hugo or Humphrey are fine. I doubt there's many others who remember the advert, "Watch out, watch out, watch out. There's a Humphrey about."

Cissyandflora · 13/02/2022 14:27

Hugo is the least offensive. Humphrey is awful.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/02/2022 14:25

Humphrey is a great name but would take some living up to.

Hugo is OK. I also like Hugh. Is Hubert due a revival? Not that I'm all that keen on it, but it starts with H and is a classic name. Ditto Herbert.

Not all that keen on Hunter and don't feel it goes well with Victoria. Not the same style of name at all.

Henry or Harry?

ofwarren · 13/02/2022 14:24

Hugo is my favourite

StopForAMinute · 13/02/2022 14:22

Hugo.

TenThousandSpoons · 13/02/2022 14:22

I also prefer Hutch to Hunter.
Humphrey is a lovely name…for a hamster.
Hugo I guess is the best of the bunch but I prefer Henry or Harry.

Bosephine · 13/02/2022 14:20

It's a name you just have to rise to!

I love this idea!

TabithaTittlemouse · 13/02/2022 14:16

I think I prefer hutch to hunter!

Hugo is the best of a not so fabulous bunch. I do know a couple of twenty something Hugo’s who really suit the name.

HandWash · 13/02/2022 14:12

Hugo- I like

Humphrey- I think is quite an ugly name and is too similar to 'hump'. "Have you got the Humphrey?"

Hutch- Confused

gingerhills · 13/02/2022 14:07

I love Humphrey because every Humphrey I've ever met has been handsome or brilliant or witty or all three. Never met a dud one. It's a name you just have to rise to!

PainterMummy · 13/02/2022 13:54

Victoria is a red herring. Doesn’t matter what other child’s name as as king as it’s not one you’re considering.

Hutch is just bizarre. Either two just fine. (FYI - hutch is also a piece of furniture.)

Bosephine · 13/02/2022 13:53

Can’t think of Hunter without thinking of this guy

Hugo, Humphrey or Hutch?
Imsittinginthekitchensink · 13/02/2022 13:49

Of the 3, only Hugo is ok imo, although with Victoria it's a bit Victor Hugo.
Pp there was a very long thread some years ago re what Hugo was short for. V amusing read.

Rekorderlig88 · 13/02/2022 13:45

100% Hunter

Olga03 · 13/02/2022 13:43

Humphrey - I really like it, but sadly it's not due to a revival yet.
Hugo - beautiful name :)
Hunter - don't like at all

DarleneSnell · 13/02/2022 13:43

Hugo is my favourite, It's a great name

I do like Humphrey, it's cool, and someone needs to help bring it to the mainstream! Do your bit, OP Grin

Hunter is awful, sorry

AuntieStella · 13/02/2022 13:41

Hugo

I like Humphrey as a name, but I think it might be a little tiresome to live with.

Hutch might be OK as a nn from a surname or if your partner is Starsky

LawnFever · 13/02/2022 13:26

@SausageRoll2020

Hugo is a nice name. Humphrey I'm not keen on but it's a name. Hutch is what a rabbit lives in.
This sums up my thoughts entirely
SoupDragon · 13/02/2022 13:26

@riotlady

I like Hugo, but what’s it short for?
Nothing. It's just a name.
SoupDragon · 13/02/2022 13:26

@walkingonsunshinewithicecream

*Hunter, not Hutch Sorry
Still Hugo.

Hunter is not quite as awful as Hutch but nearly.

MissyB1 · 13/02/2022 13:23

Can I offer two alternatives?
Hugh
Hudson

riotlady · 13/02/2022 13:21

I like Hugo, but what’s it short for?

BiggerBoat1 · 13/02/2022 13:18

Hunter is worse than Hutch. Sounds like a 70s porn star.

BiggerBoat1 · 13/02/2022 13:17

@Bosephine

Hugo- love it. Humphrey- not do much but ok. Hutch- prefer Warren.
