Baby name MIMI

After some honest opinions. I love the name Mimi, my husband likes it but as a nickname. I plan on calling her Mimi from day one, so is there any point giving her a different full name if that isn’t what she’s known by? Obviously both my husband and I do have to agree when it comes to names, so we are both after some outside input from people that won’t sugar coat the truth, so as not to upset us. Grin the only name I like that we could use to get Mimi as a nickname is Amelia. Any other suggestions welcome.
We are expecting our 3rd girl. Our daughters names are Hannah and Louisa.

Above comment was meant to be in reply to the name Jemima

Mimi is so sweet for a baby, but maybe you should give her a more formal name on her birth cert for when she wants to be prime minister Smile. I know a Miriam who goes by Mim.

I know a Mirabelle, nicknamed Mimi

I’m Livia, almost always called Olivia. Known as Livvie. I almost wish my name was actually Olivia because of the confusion. That’s something I wasn’t to try and avoid- and think I have done with our other daughters names. Hannah’s middle name is Rosalie, which she likes to be known as with her friendship group. Louisa is Louisa Lily. We call her Lulu, but she’s known by her full name to everyone else

I know a Jemima who’s known as Mimi.

Anything's OK as a nickname, but honestly, I'm with your husband here, Mimi is a bloody awful full name to be lumbered with.

HerRoyalHappiness · 12/02/2022 21:41

For something like Mimi you need a full name, and I say that as someone with an Alex. (Not Alexander)

Miriam
Marian
Mira-Jane (I love this name but I won't be having any more children)

Or even Mia/Camila.

I think Hannah and Louisa are beautiful, strong, classic names that would suit any girl or woman. Mimi doesn’t really match those standards to me. Amelia/Emilia would fit with Hannah and Louisa and allow for Mimi for a nickname.

Oh hadn’t thought of Miriam! We did think of Millicent, although she would most likely be a Millie.

I know a Melanie nn Mimi

I love it short for Miriam

I don't like Amelia which I've always found a bit stuffy and matronly and now find it a bit overdone...

I don't love mimi on its own tbh... lots of shortenings work on their own, but I personally don't think that mimi is one of them.

There must be a lot of possible options to use on BC
