Francesca, not the other three

blameitonthecaffeine · 12/02/2022 15:18

I love Francesca but not keen on Frankie.

Elsie and Lydia I quite like.

I don't like Margot.

AdaColeman · 12/02/2022 10:06

Lydia and Francesca are lovely.

KylieCharlene · 12/02/2022 10:04

Sorry but Margot is hideous.

Lydia would be my choice.
It's classic and suits all ages.

GeneLovesJezebel · 12/02/2022 10:02

Lydia
Elsie
Margot
Francesca.

FayCarew · 12/02/2022 10:00

Elsie - dislike
Francesca nn Frankie - not keen
Margot - not keen
Lydia - nice but will be Lyds. Lydie is nice as a nn

RupertOscar1999 · 12/02/2022 09:45

I like Lydia and Margot

Mumofgirls2017 · 12/02/2022 07:44

Elsie- like, although suppose blends into lots of Ellie, Ella, Maisie, daisy etc
Francesca nn Frankie- ok, but don’t like frankie
Margot- can’t get on board with this one! Ugly sound to me
Lydia- meh

WaitinginVain · 11/02/2022 18:24

Lydia
Francesca
Elsie
Margot

in that order.

But I really like Lydia and Francesca and don't like Elsie and Margot.

SallyWD · 11/02/2022 17:56

I love Lydia and really like Francesca. Elsie and Margot are OK.

ISmellBurnings · 11/02/2022 17:39

I prefer Elise over Elsie, don’t hear it as much either.

cptartapp · 11/02/2022 15:41

Elsie - yikes no
Francesca - lovely in its entirety. No contrived nn, and certainly not yet another name ending in ie
Margot - a know a couple of these now. Not keen
Lydia - nah. In the same vein as Darcey or Lucy. A bit wet.

Eycaluptus · 11/02/2022 15:35

Oooh lovely names!

Francesca
Lydia
Margot
Elsie

ellenpartridge · 11/02/2022 15:33

Francesca is the nicest

Comedycook · 11/02/2022 14:57

Love Francesca
Like Lydia
Elsie is too old lady for my tastes...on the wrong side of cool where old names are concerned
Margot is an ugly name imo and a bit trendy

RavenclawsRoar · 11/02/2022 14:46

I like Lydia best. Don't like Elsie at all. Margot is quite nice and Francesca is lovely in its full form but I don't like Frankie or Fran.

M0rT · 11/02/2022 14:42

Love Frankie, I had two Auntie Frankie's from Frances rather than Francesca. Both lovely women.

Pemba · 11/02/2022 14:35

Margot is pronounced with the 'T' sounded at the end in several countries I believe. (Germany?)

SatinHeart · 11/02/2022 14:35

I like Margot the best but its super popular at the moment if that bothers you. Glad you spelled it with a t on the end!

Elsie is nice but feels like it should be short for something

Francesca is OK but hate Frankie (though in fairness Cheska would be even worse)

Lydia feels a bit stuffy

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/02/2022 14:31

Elsie - I really like it as a NN, though saying that we tried using it as a NN for dd2 but it just didn't suit her at all, so now she has a different nickname instead

Francesca nn Frankie - love Francesca but not Frankie. I prefer Cesca or Chess

Margot - pretty, just not my style

Lydia - love it

DramaAlpaca · 11/02/2022 14:26

Lydia is gorgeous.

The rest I dislike rather a lot. Elsie is the worst.

Glitterygreen · 11/02/2022 14:22

I LOVE Frankie. It's my number 1 choice and has been for years but DP says no :(

I do really like Elsie but am under the impression it's pretty common at the moment as I see it mentioned a lot on here.

Lydia is pretty too :)

Margot to me is still The Good Life :) But obvs it won't be for the children around her! Although be prepared for people to call her Mar-got at first....I worked with a lady called Margot and a few people hadn't heard the name and called her that.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 11/02/2022 14:21

Elsie and Margot are too old lady like for my taste
Love Francesca and Lydia is nice

Pemba · 11/02/2022 14:20

Lydia and Francesca are lovely and classy.

Elsie will always be an old lady name to me. Elsa is so much nicer, (too Frozen?) or Elise.

StopForAMinute · 11/02/2022 14:18

I like them all! My favourite is probably Elsie, followed by Lydia.
