Help choosing baby boy name

Good evening, we are still struggling to choose a name for our baby boy but have a shortlist of Lewis, Dylan, Alfie or Ollie. His middle name will be Michael. Please let us know your thoughts and which you prefer. Thank you!

I like Dylan best and really dislike Lewis. Alfie is ok, quite popular if that bothers you. Ollie is fine but I reckon a lot of people will assume he is an Oliver (not necessarily a problem as long as you're happy to explain that). Also popular!

My pet hate is when people use shorter versions as full names. Give them the choice as they get older so Charles but call them Charlie if you want, Alfred but call Alfie, Oliver, Ollie etc. giving them the nickname as a name is rubbish!

mumof2nanof1 · 12/02/2022 13:24

Dylan

I would go for Lewis,
Dylan, Alfie and Ollie are all too popular for me. I’m also not a fan of names ending in “an”

WithANameLikeDaniCalifornia · 12/02/2022 13:15

Michael is better than any of those first names. Lewis is the best of a bad bunch though.

OrangeAndYellowAndBlue · 12/02/2022 13:13

Lewis

Liv999 · 12/02/2022 10:46

Dylan

Another vote for Dylan ☺️ One of my favourite boys names but was vetoed by ExH. Lovely name, and despite being in Wales, I like both pronunciations too.

MysticCT · 12/02/2022 10:14

Dylan or Lewis.
They both go nicely with Michael.

FayCarew · 12/02/2022 10:10

Lewis, Dylan, Alfie or Ollie?

Lewis is the one I'd choose.

I don't like Dylan, although the welsh pronunciation (DULL-ann) is ok but it's a bit dated.

Lots of Alfie's around here including dogs.

Oliver is nice but not just Ollie.

urbanbuddha · 11/02/2022 02:43

Lewis.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/02/2022 23:51

I cant actually stand the name but I'm drawn to Dylan Michael.

DramaAlpaca · 10/02/2022 23:44

Lewis or Dylan.

caringcarer · 10/02/2022 22:22

I prefer Louis than Lewis.

duckoutofwater · 10/02/2022 22:15

Lewis definitely. Not keen on the rest.

Hdhr8jsj · 10/02/2022 22:13

The only name I'd consider would be Dylan. The rest are not very nice.

PatterPaws · 10/02/2022 22:12

Dylan

TatianaBis · 10/02/2022 22:10

Personally I cannot stand the current trend of boys names ending -ie, I find it twee beyond belief.

So much prefer Lewis and Dylan.

SallyWD · 10/02/2022 22:09

Dylan
