Torn between Jude and Otis for a boy....

Thoughts on either of these names please?!! Smile

Definitely Jude. Otis has an ugly sound to it.

Both lovely but I'd personally go with Jude. I know a few gorgeous little Otises and no Judes.

I just think of Jude Law--- i like the name and folks can come out with all sorts of bizarre reasons as to why you shouldnt use it.

Otis and Jude are nice names- good luck with wha you decide

Jude makes me think of Jude the Obscure and his poor children Sad
Otis makes me think of aardvarks which is a good thing! Smile

I think I feel Jude/Judy is feminine as I know several female Judiths nicknamed Jude.

Jude is the German word for Jew. Pronounced Yoo-deh. I don't think Jude travels well.

I also find Jude/Judy very feminine sounding.

Otis is great!

Jude is very definitely s boy's name- I like it.
To me, Otis is a lift.

Jude is one of my favourite names. Even though its an old name I think it sounds very cool. I know quite a few boys called Otis. I don't think it sounds as nice as Jude.

Otis strikes me as a little bit feeble... I can't imagine a full-grown man with that name. Jude sounds very stalwart. But I personally love strong names so might just be me!

Jude always sounds unfinished to me...like it should be a nickname rather than a name in its own right

(I much prefer Jude to Otis! It's a strong name with a lot of history, both in English literature and the Bible)
