Robyn or Felicity?

Can I get some thoughts?

We have a new baby girl, and are stuck between these two names.

We both love Felicity, but is it a bit long? We like the full name more than we like the nicknames. Is it too much of a mouthful?

Robyn is sweet - but is it too common?

What do you think? Thanks Smile

Felicity is lovely - but yes, with a 4 syllable name there a greater chance of it being shortened imo. Less keen on Robyn- it always looks misspelt to me (unisex Robin is nice enough though).

Love both. That doesn’t help you much though! I’m your shoes I would see which one goes best with your surname. I don’t know if it would bother you, but for post confusion purposes, you could cross off a name if it shares a first initial with someone else in your household.

Felicity is soo much nicer

I love Felicity.

I don't think Robyn and Felicity are too far apart in popularity. Robyn is 74th in popularity in England and Wales while Felicity is 103rd and for me that's similar enough that it does;t make too much of a difference.

I know many more baby Felicity's than baby Robyn's at the moment!
Both are lovely names but Robyn strikes me as a stronger name.

I don't know any Robyns - I don't think it's common. Felicity is a lovely name. Could easily be shortened to Flea, Fleabag? At least it was for the Felicity I knew.

Congratulations! Love felicity but then I love fliss as a nickname !

Fangdrew · 04/02/2022 19:47

Congratulations by the way! ❤️

I think if the nicknames for Felicity bother you, don’t use it. Inevitably it’ll be shortened and you might not be able to control which short version is used and end up hating it.

I absolutely love Robyn. It’s sweet and oddly timeless and I really don’t think it’s too popular. I only know two, one a baby and one about seven. I’d go with that.
