Astrid, allegra, camilla would be my preference

Hetty and Aleyna are a NO.

bxbynxmelxver4 · 05/02/2022 02:59

Isabella

Chichimcgee · 05/02/2022 02:48

I thought of Astrid for my baby girl but it would inevitably get shorted to Ass

Kanaloa · 05/02/2022 02:32

Allegra - really dislike, just don’t like the sound of it.
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - think this is lovely and Milly makes a nice shortening too
Astrid - seriously dislike this one. It just isn’t made up of nice sounds whatsoever to me.
Isabella (bella) - yes this is pretty. It’s very popular though, I’ve looked after lots and lots of Isabelle/Isabella/Bella.
Freya - nice name.
Florence - this is nice but becoming more popular. No really nice shortenings for a nickname.
Hetty - I like Henrietta but not Hetty alone, it just feels a bit nothingy for a full name.
Clementine - it’s ok. I’m not a huge fan but it’s not a bad name.

Lockdownbear · 05/02/2022 00:41

Allegra - ditch, can't decide if it sounds like a musical or legal term.

Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - ok

Astrid - ditch, I just don't like it.

Isabella (bella)- really like it

Freya - really like

Florence - l like, but not sure about Flo, which is likely to be used

Hetty - ditch, petty hetty, and its a pink hoover.

Clementine - ditch it's a fruit rather than a person, would get shortened to Tina or something.

A real mix of names there op

MrsMorningStarOfBethleh · 05/02/2022 00:33

From the lists a pp has suggested I also love Isolde.

MrsMorningStarOfBethleh · 05/02/2022 00:32

I would ditch Isabella and Freya - not because I think they are horrible but they are so over used.

Love Allegra and Astrid, both sound like they belong to strong girls/women.

They rest I could take or leave - not over used but not wow either.

DoodleBelle · 05/02/2022 00:26

I like all of them. I probably wouldn’t use Astrid and Allegra personally as I find them a tad harsh sounding for my taste but they are still nice names.

Would also prefer Hattie short for Harriet than Hetty/ie short for Henrietta. I wouldn’t use either as a standalone name though, it’s nice for the child to have the choice to use a full name not just a nickname.

Florence, Freya, Isabella are all beautiful names but they are very popular too if that would put you off at all.

Camilla or Clementine are my favourites! Prefer Milly to Clemmie.

Marimaur · 05/02/2022 00:05

Isabella and Alena I like.
Ditch the others.

Mumofgirls2017 · 04/02/2022 21:26

Allegra- not a fan
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly)- ditch reminds me Parker Bowles
Astrid- not keen, think it sounds like astringent
Isabella (bella)- meh, so many
Freya- meh
Florence- like
Hetty- ditch, if you must short for Harriet or Henrietta
Clementine- love, choose this!

user1493494961 · 04/02/2022 12:04

I would ditch Astrid, Hetty and Aleyna.

babyjellyfish · 02/02/2022 19:16

Allegra - nice
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - like Camilla but Milly is a bit wet
Astrid - great
Isabella (bella) - nice
Freya - nice
Florence - nice
Hetty - no
Clementine - great

Tootbeep · 02/02/2022 19:12

Allegra - very horsey, dislike
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - like, despite duchess - not keen on Milly. Much prefer Camille.
Astrid - very harsh sounding, dislke
Isabella (bella) - so popular it's become a bit dull. Also very frilly - Isobel is much nicer.
Freya - pretty, but possibly a little dated in the same way as Chloe.
Florence - like, but not nn like Flo, Flossy etc.
Hetty - reminds me of hair nets for some reason, doesn't feel like a real name.
Clementine - nice

How about - Madeleine, Marguerite, Phoebe, Fleur, Isolde, Lyra, Jemima, Beatrix.

ChirpyChirp · 02/02/2022 19:11

Astrid

MangoLipstick · 02/02/2022 19:11

Alayna - lovely
Allegra - no, sounds harsh
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - no
Astrid - no
Isabella (bella) - I like Bella
Freya. - yes
Florence - yes
Hetty - no
Clementine - no

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/02/2022 19:09

Allegra - keep but will be Legs
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - ditch
Astrid - keep
Isabella (bella) - ditch
Freya - ditch
Florence - keep but will be Flo/Flossie
Hetty - short for Henrietta? - not sure
Clementine - ditch
Also, forgot- Aleyna (pronounced A-lay-na) - ditch

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/02/2022 18:57

A list
Allegra
Astrid

B list - purely becos overdone
Isabella (bella)
Freya
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - Camilla isn’t overdone but Milly is

Ditch, bit wet
Florence
Clementine

Ditch, unless you are planning to call her Harriet / Henrietta in full
Hetty

TempsPerdu · 02/02/2022 18:56

Allegra - sounds pretentious, plus I don’t like the ‘leg’ sound in the middle

Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - too Pony Club/wannabe posh
Astrid - quite nice but it’s one of the hipster names du jour
Isabella (bella) - completely overdone and too frilly for me
Freya - too popular; has lost its appeal
Florence - as above
Hetty - like as nn for Harriet but not as full name
Clementine - like the full form but slightly put off by the pronunciation issue and hate Clemmie.

I think I’d drop all of them except for Astrid, Harriet (for Hetty) and Clementine. Maybe Florence at a push, if popularity didn’t bother me.

PlanetNormal · 02/02/2022 18:53

I like all the names on your list except Hetty & Clementine. Both a bit twee for my taste.

Enko · 02/02/2022 18:48

Love Allegra and Aleyna

Ditch Hetty Florence and Freya

Echobelly · 02/02/2022 18:45

I'd drop isabella as really ubiquitous, and if Hetty would name Henrietta or Harriet so there is a full name option, even if you use Hetty on a day to day basis

Newpuppymummy · 02/02/2022 18:44

I don’t like the A names but like the rest

WinterCarlisle · 02/02/2022 18:43

Astrid is the only one I like.

Quite like the sound of Alayna but prefer Alaina

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2022 18:40

My favourites are Florence and Clementine.

I like Hetty as a diminutive of Henrietta but not on its own.

I like Isabella and Camilla too, and Astrid is OK.

I'm not keen on Freya and I find Allegra very hard.

D0lphine · 02/02/2022 18:37

Allegra - sounds snooty
Camilla (would be shortened to Milly) - nice
Astrid - nice
Isabella (bella) - nice but very common
Freya - nice but very common
Florence - like but common
Hetty- no is this short for Harriet? Not as a name by itself
Clementine - nice but common
