Too similar yes, and Iris is so much nicer that Ivy gets the short straw.

But I love Iris and Violet together.

HeadlessGummyBears · 10/02/2022 16:25

I think it would be ok as the second part of each name sounds different.

user1493494961 · 03/02/2022 18:58

I think they're fine together.

Lockdownbear · 02/02/2022 13:15

Both lovely but too close for me.
Ivy and Rose, Daisy, Willow, maybe

HangoverSquare · 02/02/2022 12:46

I think they work fine together tbh

ISmellBurnings · 02/02/2022 12:42

Too matchy matchy.

RuthW · 02/02/2022 12:12

I think they are fine

Bluemamma · 02/02/2022 09:26

Way too similar (both lovely names though)

sueelleker · 02/02/2022 09:22

I have a great-niece called Ivy; when I suggested her sister should be called Holly I got a very funny look! (I was joking)

toastofthetown · 02/02/2022 09:02

Too similar for me. It fails the ‘can you distinguish the name when calling through the house?’ test for me, as all the emphasis on both names is the long I sound.

FlexibleWorkingDenied · 02/02/2022 07:08

I know sisters called Ida and Iris

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/02/2022 07:06

It’s cute! Both lovely names. But they probably won’t appreciate having twinny names beyond the stage you can dress them in matching outfits.

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2022 00:41

Yes, too similar. Both lovely names but put together they sound twee, and they aren't twee names.

PattyPan · 01/02/2022 10:37

I think they are too similar - not just same letter but 50% the same as they are two syllable names with the same first syllable. Ivy and Isabel for example are less similar as different lengths and sounds despite the same first letter.

ShoesEverywhere · 01/02/2022 10:10

I shares the same initial as my mum and post was a nightmare growing up. You'll be driven mad by letters to Miss I Smith!

Kitkat151 · 01/02/2022 10:05

Too much

KedgeIsland · 01/02/2022 09:54

Much.

Wisemensay · 01/02/2022 09:29

I think so I'm afraid. Both lovely names though.

Riverlee · 01/02/2022 09:25

No,M don’t think so.
