Hi - which one do you prefer?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

For a boy or girl? They seem more suitable for boys. I do think Alva would be misheard as Albie (Albert) a lot.

Alba

babbi · 01/02/2022 07:13

Alba is the Gaelic word for Scotland…
Do you have Scottish connections?
I like it as a name but I’m from there

Cismyfatarse · 01/02/2022 07:09

Alba is a pro Independence Party in Scotland. Indie is used as shorthand for independence in Scotland.

I suggest you call her SNPee. Or just Nicola?

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 01/02/2022 07:08

Alba. We thought about this name ourselves but ended up having 2 boys

Namechangeforthis88 · 01/02/2022 07:06

Alba is a political party in Scotland.

PurplePizzaCake · 01/02/2022 07:06

I like both. Probably prefer Alba. There are so many indies around

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 01/02/2022 07:05

I'm not keen on either. Prefer India instead.

HacerSonarSusPasos · 01/02/2022 07:03

Alba literally mean white... i donno how i feel about it being potentially racially loaded. But i like the way it sounds.

Still better than Indie

WorstXmasEver · 01/02/2022 05:55

Yes, I'm right.

You're going to name a child after a budget electrical goods brand from the 1980s.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 01/02/2022 05:53

Alba for sure!

WorstXmasEver · 01/02/2022 05:52

I'm sure Alba was a brand name that used to be on cassette tapes.

Names are very important.

Alba

Flutterflybutterby · 01/02/2022 05:40

Definitely Alba. Cool and modern sounding but also ancient and strong. Indie a bit faddy, will date I think.
