Mine wouldn't, I don't think.

It's Belinda, but I go by variations of it. Was very popular in Australia in the 70's. But I can't remember the last time I heard of a baby named Belinda.

Do you have a nice timeless name or a dated one like mine?

I’m a Camilla and I love it! Was married to a Charles too 😂although I divorced him. I love my name - really love it.

My daughter is Emma and loves her name. My son is too unique but lovely too

RussianSpy101 · 03/02/2022 18:09

@TinyTear Lucy is lovely! It was really popular in my school year (I’m 30) but I only know 1 now under 25.

Tiny837 · 03/02/2022 17:56

@mumoblue I named my daughter Lucy 12 yrs ago.She was the ONLY Lucy in her primary school of 186 kids. She's never met another Lucy. My husband hated the way I wanted to spell it (Lucie)

Tiny837 · 03/02/2022 17:33

I'm a Kelly-Marie. Was born '83 (very popular),was at least 10 in my year at school. Just don't hear babies called Kelly anymore and I love my name

YesPleaseMary · 03/02/2022 17:32

I'm a 70s Jennifer. I've never really liked it. It'll probably come back in another twenty years...

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 03/02/2022 17:21

I think so but it would have to have a revival. Maybe it will. It's Lisa.

ImAJanice · 03/02/2022 17:11

I'm not sure my name ever worked, I don't know what my mum was thinking! Grin

FrugalFrancine · 03/02/2022 17:06

Yes mine gets used as a baby name. Not super common, but you do hear it sometimes

OrangeAndYellowAndBlue · 03/02/2022 17:03

@JaffaCakeGal If it's the song I think, there was one of these born into my family last week!

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 03/02/2022 16:05

Mine is a royal name, so yes t would.

dementedma · 03/02/2022 15:48

Very dated sixties/seventirs name. Havent heard it on anyone under 40 in years.

ItsRainingTacos · 03/02/2022 14:32

Mine's a popular 70s name and growing up there were plenty of us - 4 girls with this name in the same year group at secondary school. I'm yet to meet a young person/child with this name these days. There are a few European versions of it and it sounds lovely with a 'a' at the end or a silent 'e' at the end to make it more French sounding.

catsareme14 · 03/02/2022 14:19

Mine was popular in the 50's . I hate it .

itwasntaparty · 03/02/2022 13:25

My name was so rare when I was growing up I used to get upset I could never get any of the personalised decorations / bracelets / tat when you go on holiday. Now it's EVERYWHERE. I'm often turning around to someone calling me and then realise they're nothing to do with me and talking to their kid and not me.

JaffaCakeGal · 03/02/2022 13:23

My name is Welsh and fairly unusual (apart from being a song from the 70s). It is always mentioned on MN when people are looking for Welsh girls names as it's one of the easier to spell/pronounce ones, but I don't personally know of anyone under 30 with the name (although maybe there's loads of them running about in Wales Grin.

waitingformygirl · 03/02/2022 11:58

No. I've only met two others and they are a lot older than me. Not even my parents call me my real name anymore Hmm

StrychnineIntheSandwiches · 03/02/2022 11:48

@Mumoblue

I think my name is actually “coming back”.

It’s Lucy.

Having barely met any other Lucy’s my entire life, I’m suddenly seeing a lot more little Lucy’s around.

MN tends to like my name, from threads I’ve seen- though someone called it “wet” once. 😂

You're reminded me of a spooky book that I loved as a child called 'Come Back, Lucy'. It featured an evil Victorian ghost child. Alice was the evil one though! Grin
SatinHeart · 03/02/2022 11:43

My parents picked my name because they thought it was timeless and classic. It's now widely regarded as boring and dated! It's one of the ones already mentioned upthread.

I work with a Lucy....she’s 48 and very glamorous 😃
YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 03/02/2022 11:29

Mine’s Lindsay, I was born early ‘50’s and named after Stewart Grainger’s daughter apparently 😳
I hate it.

bloominglovelyorange · 03/02/2022 11:20

no

Trisolaris · 03/02/2022 11:18

Yes, it’s less popular than it was but I’ve still met a few little girls with my name.

Kitkat151 · 03/02/2022 11:17

Yes...mine is a timeless classic......it can be spelt a couple of ways though

Warmhandscoldheart · 03/02/2022 11:15

No, mine's very dated. Only women I know called it are in the late 50's - 70 age range. It's a character from a children's book
