Iris’s are the most beautiful flowers. I do have a variety in my garden called “stinking Iris” though which might put me off, but i doubt many are familiar with it!

Iris definitely and the fact it nearly rhymes with virus would not put me off at all, loads of names rhyme with unpleasant or negative words it doesn't mean they will end up as a nickname.

Not a fan of Ada, quite a harsh sounding name and bound to be mispronounced. Prefer Ava or Ivy.

I liked Iris but asked about it in her ages ago and someone pointed out it rhymes with virus so Iris the virus. Given covid that put me right off.

It’s beautiful but sparky. Ada I think is harsh. However they are both very popular, so Lois, Ines, Frances, Annis, Adela, Stella, Honor or Oona might be alternatives if that bothers you.

Both lovely. Iris is pronounced very differently (ee-ris) in every non-english speaking country so might be annoying to her if she ever moves somewhere else

Another vote for Iris. For me it has more depth and meaning to it (goddess/rainbow/flower), and I think Ada merges into other currently trendy names like Ava and Eva so it feels a bit bland.
