Marley or Marlee

Due my seccond baby in july. We are not finding out the gender so thought marley/Marlee would be a nice unisex name, me and partner both like it. We just cant decide on the spelling. First child is called Archie so part of me thinks the spelling Marlee would be nice to both have the E at the end

@Snorkmaidenn

Marlee is a feminine name, very nice for a girl. I like it!
No it’s not. It’s a random string of characters.
CloseYourEyesAndSee · 26/01/2022 19:06

Marley!!
Why would you spell it double e??

RestingStitchFace · 26/01/2022 19:03

Marley for sure.

Marlee makes me think of Only Fools and Horses "Marleeeeeeene!!"

Snowiscold · 26/01/2022 19:00

Marley. But it’s a type of flooring - a bit like calling your child Lino.

Iamanicepersonreally · 26/01/2022 18:57

Neither

Frazzled2207 · 26/01/2022 18:56

Marley

But if you wanted to “match” Archie surely you’d go for Marlie.

SeasonFinale · 26/01/2022 18:53

@PattyPan

Marley is definitely the more recognisable spelling. Marlee will get spelt wrong all the time - my phone just autocorrected it to Marley and then Marlene.

Reggae fans?

Now I keep hearing "Maaaarleeeene" from Only Fools and Horses!
Piggy42 · 26/01/2022 18:53

Marley. I never quite understand wanting to match siblings names (other than not wanting one classic, one ultra modern for example).

SeasonFinale · 26/01/2022 18:53

Neither but each to their own

Lemonweightloss · 26/01/2022 18:52

@MirabelM, well....don't !!! 🤣🤣

Marley please.

DramaAlpaca · 26/01/2022 18:50

Erm, of the two, Marley.

TheChemicalMother · 26/01/2022 18:49

Maaaghlii ?

RusholmeRuffian · 26/01/2022 16:56

Marley. Anything other spelling is ludicrous.

MirabelM · 26/01/2022 15:14

Marlea?
Marleigh?
Just playing devils advocate!

FrecklesMalone · 26/01/2022 15:07

Marley, Marley, Marley! I say this with someone whose parents "made up" the spelling of their name. Which is HUGELY embarrassing.

StopForAMinute · 26/01/2022 15:05

Marley

PattyPan · 26/01/2022 14:49

Marley is a dog's name, a life time of dog/ movie related questions.

Marlee is redneck and a life time of spelling their name.

BasiliskFace · 26/01/2022 14:48

Marley. It's a lovely name but not one I could ever use as I can't say my Rs and it would sound hideous.

Firebird83 · 26/01/2022 14:45

Marley

TheChemicalMother · 26/01/2022 14:10

Marley.

PinkSyCo · 26/01/2022 14:03

Marley definitely, or if it’s a girl you could name her after Boycie’s wife Marlene.

Bluemamma · 26/01/2022 13:50

Marley. (Lovely name)
The other spelling is just stupid and pointless. Please don’t.

Classica · 26/01/2022 13:43

Whenever I see Marlee Matlin's name I think 'why the double E, Marlee's mum and dad?'

jackstini · 26/01/2022 13:41

Marley rather than Marlee, but makes me think of Marley & Me
