Hello all! I quite like unique or unusual names. Im wondering if anyone can suggest any middle names to go with Jodhi? Thankyou!

Jodhi is a Hebrew name. People on Mumsnet can be really unnecessarily hateful and cruel.

How about:

Jodhi Joy
Jodhi Elerie
Jodhi Amaris
Jodhi Seren
Jodhi Elowen

I would assume Johdi was pronounced Jody because of Bodhi. But, for the same reason, I also thought it was a boys' name. Doesn't really matter though, lots of names don't tell you the sex of the owner before you meet them.

I love middle names because you can go as 'out there' as you fancy, really.

Angelica, Bianca, Calliope, Calypso, Calista, Cressida, Cornelia, Christabel, Dakota, Devora, Danica, Elisaveta, Everley, Electra, Evadne, Eriskay, Fenella, Fabia, Giselle, Harmony, Isadora, Ivanka, Isolde, Indiana, Jessamy, Jocasta, Juniper, Julissa, Jerica, Katherina, Larissa, Lorelai, Liberty, Marissa, Mariella, Miranda, Neriah, Nicolette, Octavia, Paloma, Pandora, Rosina, Romilly, Rowena, Rainbow, Saffron, Sephora, Saskia, Tatiana, Tamika, Vienna, Vanessa, Winona, Ximena, Xanthippe, Yolanda, Zipporah

There is an actress called Jodhi May who is of Turkish decent, so I presume it's from that culture, is that right OP?

How about Johdi Talitha?

perimenofertility · 25/01/2022 18:41

@Happenchance Yes it was! Late night crime Grin

Skeumorph · 25/01/2022 13:55

Jody always reminds me of Amityville Horror!

I read Jodhi as 'Joddy' too.

It's ok but OP it's quite bland really. Jody sounds a bit 80s to me (Forget the spelling, when it's called out no one will have the feel of how it's spelled, she'll just be Jody).

Jodhi Elizabeth
Jodhi Charlotte

If you want a proper 80s feel, Jodhi Gemma, Jodhi Laura?

It looks worse the more I type it though I have to say! Argh I wouldn't do it OP, I think you'll go off this one.

Marcipex · 25/01/2022 13:46

Jodhi Fenella
Jodhi Amanda
Jodhi Beryl

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/01/2022 13:40

Jodhi will be misspelt. She'll be Johdi, Jodhie, Jodey, Jody, Jodie and Jodee

@perimenofertility

I read it pronounced as Jody, also rhyming with Bodhi. What about Jodhi Illaria? (ill-ah-ria) It's a character name in a programme I'm watching now.
SUV Grin

Not the most unusual names but I think they go ok with Jodhi:
Alyssa
Angelica
Elmira
Elizabeth
Forrestine

I know someone who chose Treasure as a middle name for her DS as it was unique. Only he went to school with another child with the same middle name. The DM was not impressed.

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 25/01/2022 05:57

Porcupine.

I can guarantee nobody else in her preschool will share it.

NotTheGrinchAgain · 25/01/2022 05:54

Jodhi Jayne
Jodhi Anharad
Jodhi Kalea (Hawaiian name, means joy and happiness )

Loads of people will pronounce it Joddy I expect. But loads of people pronounce all sorts of names wrong so I wouldnt be too fussed.

Please please don't saddle a child with the name Jodhi. She will spend all her life explaining it. I read it as Jodhigh and then joedie.

DotDotDotDotDot · 24/01/2022 22:08

I didn’t read Jodhi as Jody (Joe-dy) at first to be honest, I thought it looked like it rhymed with body.

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 24/01/2022 21:40

Different perspective maybe but I also love unusual names. My two boys have names that don't even appear in the baby name lists because fewer than 3 kids were given them that year.

Both of them have more conventional middle names though - just in case they're not such fans of their names as I am!

I think you could also pair Jodhi with a traditional name like:
Jodhi Kathryn
Jodhi Emma
Jodhi Marie

Just a thought!

Bluemamma · 24/01/2022 21:30

I absolutely love Soleil. But only works with the right kind of surname.. it would sound ridiculous with Smyth:) but would sound good with let’s say “Kennedy”

TheDoveFromAboveCooCoo · 24/01/2022 21:06

Mine is Siobhan. I love it but nobody can spell it 😂

SouthOfFrance · 24/01/2022 20:55

How about a place name?

Wildflowerrr · 24/01/2022 20:53

For a girl :) sorry I should have said!
