If I like Magnus...

What other names might I like?

We both like Magnus & keep coming back to it, but we both absolutely loved the girl name we'd chosen (Astrid) but don't feel as strongly about any male names yet (& we now know that baby is a boy).

DH likes Torsten too; I like it but don't love it.

I would say if you both like it then that’s a big step in the right direction.

What would it be shortened to though? We know a family that calls their Magnus Maggie.

Magnus is a lovely name. Perhaps you just haven't had the strong feeling because you were focussed on the girls name more - now you know he is a boy the name could grow

I think you may be on to something there. I've had so many lovely suggest on this thread and I keep going back to / comparing them to Magnus. So I think that might be my answer!

Caspian is lovely but I strongly associate with a horse I used to ride Grin

Magnus isn't in the top 100 (according to ONS) so I'm not too worried about popularity.

Magnus is brilliant! Why are you trying something else?

We were both so certain about Astrid, but don't feel as strongly about Magnus. We really like it but don't love it, if that makes sense?

But I keep reading suggested names now and thinking "that's lovely, but I prefer still Magnus" - so I think it might be the one!
