Too much of a mouthful?

Seasidesusy · 17/01/2022 14:57

We’re due any day now, and not sure what we are having. Our boy’s name is sorted and our girl’s was but I’m having doubts as not sure if it’s too much of a mouthful!
What do you think about Jennifer Julia Driver? Too many Js or is it ok? The middle name is set.. we do have a second choice for the first name but we both love Jennifer.
Thanks in advance!

Julia Jennifer?

Flutterflybutterby · 20/01/2022 06:04

I think it's cool! Not another Ava! Jennifer and Julie are classy and rare whereas Ava is pretty but done to death.

Can you add another middle name to break it up, if you're worried it's too 'j' heavy?

Jennifer Alice Julia
Jennifer Daisy Julia
Jennifer Iris Julia
Jennifer Sophie Julia
Jennifer Mary Julia

Etc

Beanosaurus · 19/01/2022 23:39

My name is Jennifer and have a J middle name, I say go for it :)

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/01/2022 23:35

The double j is fine Jennifer driver isn’t a great combo though, OK if you are going to call her Jennie day to day I suppose. Ava has the same issue and is also overused.

What about Genevieve?

ISmellBurnings · 17/01/2022 17:25

Nooo not Ava, there are sooooooo many Ava’s, she’ll be Ava no.5 in her class. It’s so overused.

I like Jennifer, but I do think you need to break up the JJ with another name. Saying that, no one ever mentions middle names.

Antiqueanniesmagiclanternshow · 17/01/2022 17:24

Jennifer a hundred times better than ava
Jennifer julia os so lovely!

MsTSwift · 17/01/2022 17:22

Definitely go with Jennifer Ava very dull and over used

RuthW · 17/01/2022 17:16

Ava Driver isn't good either. Sorry. You need a name not ending in a or er

RuthW · 17/01/2022 17:15

Jennifer Driver isn't good together.

piney07 · 17/01/2022 16:39

Jenny Driver is nice I really don’t think you need to go back to the drawing board!

However, Olivia Driver could work too? Olivia Julia Driver. Something cohesive about it without it being too hard to say.

Glitterygreen · 17/01/2022 16:32

@Synchrony

I love Jennifer.

Don't choose a first name you like less based on a middle name no one will ever say. Jennifer is what you'll be using every day.

I agree with this.

Realistically how often will she ever be saying her full name anyway?

Also Ava is so popular, she will likely be one of a few in her class so Jennifer is definitely a better shout from that POV.

Talipesmum · 17/01/2022 16:31

I think it sounds absolutely great. And can be JJ Driver or JJ for fun. Go for it.

EIIa · 17/01/2022 16:27

Jennifer is so much better than Ava OP

Also:
I have a long first name, Elizabeth, three
Middle names and a double barelled surname. Yes a mouthful but you don’t often have to write it out

Seasidesusy · 17/01/2022 16:26

Ahaaaa oh god, Ava Driver sounded fine until today!
Julia can’t be the first name as it’s after someone close to the family and we’d rather not have her first name the same. We have some other choices for first name, maybe we need to go back to the drawing board

My name is Jennifer. Been called Jenny all my life. Jenny Driver isn't a great sound. Jennifer Julia is fine, but not with your surname. You need to choose carefully!
My surname was dreadful with Jenny, all my life I've hated my surname. To the point where I would introduce myself as Jennifer Surname rather than Jenny. I then had to explain I'm called Jenny. It was rather irritating to say the least. I would worry that your potential daughter may feel the same. It is inevitable she will get Jenny as a NN.

Derbee · 17/01/2022 16:11

I’m not sure that Jennifer or Ava work nicely with Driver. Both names ending with “uh” is a bit repetitive somehow

2bazookas · 17/01/2022 16:01

She'd be Jennifer Driver at school and at work.

Pleasant repetition of the ER end-syllable makes it a name that's mellifluous and memorable but will never date or sound pretentious.

Good choice.

JugglingJanuary · 17/01/2022 15:56

You can't call her Ava Driver.

And Ava Julia Driver is not great, stick to Jennifer if you both love it. Jennifer Driver does run together a bit, but not too much 90% of the time she'll just be Jennifer anyway! Or JD!!

steppemum · 17/01/2022 15:55

@piney07

No one will ever say all three names together, she’ll be known as Jennifer Driver, Jenny Driver or Jen Driver. So I wouldn’t sweat it if you love Jennifer and Julia is important.

As a random person on the internets opinion however, I do really like the name Julia Driver. Is there no reason her first name can’t just be Julia? I love the name Julia.

toatlly agree that Jennifer Driver is fine, but Julia Driver is really nice! By far the best option
MaggieFS · 17/01/2022 15:51

I like both names, but I don't think they go very well together. I would also include a second middle name to break them up.

Ava Driver is a bit 'V' heavy, I would choose Jennifer Julia.

LookItsMeAgain · 17/01/2022 15:49

Ava Jennifer Driver is lovely - Ava Driver, though that could be pronounced like a Cockney "'ave a driver"

Yikes! Who knew it would be such a minefield!

OddsNSodsBitsNBobs · 17/01/2022 15:39

Ava instead of Jennifer?
I'd say that's more of a mouthful!!!

Jennifer Driver is fine and such an underused name these days. Go for it!
