Too much of a mouthful?

We’re due any day now, and not sure what we are having. Our boy’s name is sorted and our girl’s was but I’m having doubts as not sure if it’s too much of a mouthful!
What do you think about Jennifer Julia Driver? Too many Js or is it ok? The middle name is set.. we do have a second choice for the first name but we both love Jennifer.
Thanks in advance!

I think it’s a great name!

fortheloveofcheesecake · 23/01/2022 20:15

Would she be called Jenny as a NN? I'm not sure that Jenny Driver flows well. It's the 'J' and then the 'DR' sounds which are clashing when I say them.
Ava is very commonly used around here.
How about Ada. Ada Julia Driver?

JaninaDuszejko · 23/01/2022 19:13

I am amazed how many people think there is an issue with Jennifer Driver. I think it sounds great, a really good strong feminine name, definitely passes the MN judge test! Also like Jennifer Julia. I wonder if it's because people have a horrible accent that affects how it sounds?

TedsaidFred · 23/01/2022 19:01

Post our birth announcement we have never really said our sons full name so I definitely wouldn't choose a first name based on how it flows with the middle name, much more important that it flows well next to the surname and I'm sorry but I think that Ava Driver does not sound good. Jennifer Driver sounds so much better. I do love the pp's suggestion of Genevieve Julia Driver.
Maybe it's a boy and all this angst is for nothing!

finallychangedmyusername · 23/01/2022 18:57

Jennifer is a lovely name.

Adding a short name in-between Jennifer and Julia helps break up the repeating sounds.

Jennifer Alice Julia Driver
Jennifer Lucy Julia Driver
Jennifer Molly Julia Driver
Jennifer Esmé Julia Driver
Jennifer Iris Julia Driver

Or would you consider Jessamine instead of Jennifer? Jessamine Driver is easier to say.

Jessamine Alice Julia Driver

Or another name that nicknames to Jenny?
Imogen Ava Julia Driver?

Genevieve Julia Driver could nickname to either Evie (which you might like, if you like Ava) or Jenny.

RestingStitchFace · 23/01/2022 18:36

All lovely individually but I don't think they work together. Sorry OP!

TabithaTittlemouse · 20/01/2022 11:46

Jennifer Julia is lovely. Both beautiful names.
She won’t use her middle name often anyway.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 20/01/2022 11:45

Jennifer sounds really old fashioned to me - I much prefer Ava or Julia but agree Ava Driver really doesn’t work.

Bluebluemoon39 · 20/01/2022 11:41

I like it - and no one uses their middle name anyway!

Initials J.J.D. are very nice - and Jennifer is a lovely name which is well due a comeback!

Viviennemary · 20/01/2022 11:40

They don't go well together. Like that old song Jennifer Juniper.

Fairylightsongs · 20/01/2022 11:36

Jennifer driver is fine, not great to be honest, but fine, no one uses middle names other than written and when you get married.

Liv999 · 20/01/2022 11:31

I think Ava Jennifer Driver is lovely, dont like Julia at all

Dragonfly2022 · 20/01/2022 08:58

I love Jennifer, Julia and Ava, but really don't think Ava goes with Driver. They sound too similar and clash a bit to my ears.

I wouldn't bat an eyelid at Jennifer Julia Driver. It has a nice playful rhythm and Jennifer Driver work well together.

Good luck!

Needdoughnuts · 20/01/2022 08:19

I was going to say it was too much all names ending with a schwa but I've changed my mind and think it's fab. Go for it!

Flocon · 20/01/2022 08:01

I like it. You could always add Ava so its Jennifer Ava Julia Driver if it really bothers you?

pastypirate · 20/01/2022 08:00

It's fine - she might be JJ as a nickname later on which is quite nice

agentdavid · 20/01/2022 07:59

I love Jennifer Julia. Not sure why but it flows to me, and for the JJ nickname.

Probably biased as I liked JJ in criminal minds.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 20/01/2022 07:57

Yes Jennifer is nice! Much better than Ava and Olivia (both super common at the moment), good classic, good nicknames possible

MsTSwift · 20/01/2022 07:53

At one point one third of the girls in dds primary class were named a variant of the name Eve

BunnyRuddington · 20/01/2022 07:51

Another vote for your first choice. Ava/Eva/Evie/Eve are all really common around here.

Also middle names are almost always utterly pointless and rarely used so dont let the tail wag the dog!

HeronLanyon · 20/01/2022 06:50

gabbiadini Love mn ! Jenny Diver from Mack the Knife reference. After decades of listening for the first time thought ‘well who the hell was Jenny Diver’.
Astonishing to be folklore pickpocket of such repute that born 1700 that rep continues. Love her use of false arms in her ‘trade’. Audacious !
I like Jennifer Julia.

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 20/01/2022 06:21

I think it sounds lovely, you're completely overthinking it and forget about what random people on mumsnet might say. Please don't choose the frumpy and very common Ava instead! Jennifer is very nice.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 20/01/2022 06:09

Gah, just saw your update.
