Trying to think of middle name for Felicity. Four syllable word name that ends in -ee sound and strong L sound.
Word middles like Grace and Hope are off
Middle names like Anne makes Felicity into Felicitian
Longer names are out
Two syllable names like Charlotte and Beatrice are out, otherwise you got really long name in letter count.
Many lovely names are out due to similar L sounds. Felicity Giselle or Felicity Helena both strong on L.

Do you feel thinking of middle for any other name is as hard

Middle names for any name have similar sort of issues, though. There’s always reasons not to choose something. I’m not sure what your issue with ‘word’ middles like Grace or Hope is, but that’s just a preference surely?

My DC have family names/honouring others names for a middle name, feels easier when you have a reason to choose a name, imo.

Here are some Felicity options

Felicity Jane
Felicity Jean
Felicity June
Felicity May
Felicity Maeve
Felicity Eve
Felicity Ruth
Felicity Rose
Felicity Gwen

So you want a one syllable name or a short two syllable name with no L in it that isn’t also a word in the dictionary?
Jane, Kate, Marie, Mia, Rachel, Ruth
If I misunderstood and it’s just virtue names that are out, not words in general - Pearl, May, June, Rose

DotDotDotDotDot · 17/01/2022 13:53

Are you saying that 2 syllables is too long? In that case maybe Kate, Joy, Joan, Maeve, Niamh?

BelleEnderman · 17/01/2022 13:53

I would go for a short middle name not starting with a vowel eg -

Felicity Kate
Felicity Hope
Felicity Bea
Felicity Neve
Felicity Jade
Felicity Rue

Etc....

DuneFan · 17/01/2022 13:50

Similar sounds can be nice, they can knit the name together. Like Miriam Margolyes has a ridiculous number of Ms but sounds great. I wouldn't rule out Helena.

A one syllable name that doesn't start with a vowel should work. Jane, Jean, Claire. Or a short two syllable one also not starting with a vowel: Clara, Cara.

I don't know why you are getting such a hard time on this thread.

Why does a name have to ‘go’? As long it doesn’t sound really odd, just choose something that has meaning or that you like.

lickerdysplit · 17/01/2022 13:48

My name is Felicity! And my middle name is Kathleen, after an aunty who passed away very young. I think a family name in the middle works well every time.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 17/01/2022 13:46

what's so funny?

Your post. It’s ridiculous. There are loads of names that go with felicity. Including some you have ruled out in your OP. It’s a silly post.

Fl0w3ry · 17/01/2022 13:45

I think I would choose a short name as a middle name for Felicity - something like Jane or May.

MerryMarigold · 17/01/2022 13:41

Sorry typos in my first para:

I think it's nice to give middle names which have a meaning and forget the sound (or number of letters!) as they are so rarely used anyway. It's only really the DC who know what it is and it's nice if they also know the reason for it, helps them form their identity.

MerryMarigold · 17/01/2022 13:37

I don't get your question.

Personally I think it's nice to give middle names which have a reason she forget the sound as so rarely used by your DC know what it is, and the reason it's been chosen, which is part of their identity.

Stop making a mountain out if a mole hill, as my Mum would say. Call her Felicity Mum's- name or Felicity Luz (means light in Spanish) or Felicity Grandparents-choose-this-name....
