Which name do you prefer? Old fashioned I know, but that’s the style we like. Opinions on these names?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Colin is so cute

Tequilamockinbird · 16/01/2022 17:38

Neither.

oohyoudevilyou · 16/01/2022 17:38

Neither. He'll despise you for it. Callum and Niall sound similar but are more contemporary

Jaffacakeinmypocket · 16/01/2022 17:37

Colin will always be Daisy's miniature schnauzer in Spaced to me 😀

KeepingAnOpenMind · 16/01/2022 17:37

Neither if I’m honest.

AndItDoesntSeemToMatter · 16/01/2022 17:35

Your child will be bullied with either of those dreadful names sorry

Gettingthereslowly2020 · 16/01/2022 17:35

@pollygartertidywife

Neither unless you plan on giving birth to a 58 yr old heating engineer with a wife called Susan.
You gave me a much needed laugh, thanks
Tillymintpolo · 16/01/2022 17:34

Are you giving birth in 1973 ?

Tree543 · 16/01/2022 17:34

Colin isnt a name for 70s and 80s born babies its much earlier than that. I was born in 1971 and don't know anyone my age called Colin.

hartof · 16/01/2022 17:33

This has me me giggle tonight, DH is a 40 year old Colin with a 47 year old brother called Neil. Reading these replies has made my evening.

Fwiw I'd choose Colin.

AyeEee123 · 16/01/2022 17:33

Neither, they are both dreadful. My 25yo nephew’s middle name is Colin and he hates it. Colin is better than Neil though.

thewhatsit · 16/01/2022 17:33

Oh Colin, definitely.

Prescottdanni123 · 16/01/2022 17:31

Colin reminds me of Colin Bridgerton (total cutie in the Netflix series) but I'd have to go with Neil because it is the name of a very close relative of mine.

GremlinDolphin4 · 16/01/2022 17:31

Awful names but I had a lovely friend called Colin in the 70s so Colin at a push!

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/01/2022 17:31

Corin is nice. How bout that?

Mo1911 · 16/01/2022 17:31

Neil if I absolutely had to choose. One of my best friends is called Colin and he's always hated it with a passion. It's also become much more common in dogs. I'm sure you can do better than either of these names though 😊

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/01/2022 17:30

Colin if you must.

Or Niall might be better than either.

OldaRailer · 16/01/2022 17:28

Colin

Pinto33 · 16/01/2022 17:28

I actually quite like Colin! Prefer Corin though.

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 16/01/2022 17:27

I would edge towards Neil I know a young Neil who is lovely
Colin just makes me think of colin robinson in what we do in the shadows but I've watched too much of that!!

LadyGAgain · 16/01/2022 17:26

Colin is also a caterpillar cake

TheOccupier · 16/01/2022 17:26

How about Keith? Or Nigel?

LadyGAgain · 16/01/2022 17:26

Colin is colon.
Neil is the baby from Gavin and Stacey.

Zampa · 16/01/2022 17:25

I know that the 70s are back in fashion but I'm not sure I'm on board with reviving the names too.

As per a PP, I think there are nicer names from that era but despite knowing a nice Neil, I would choose Colin as I like Col as a nickname.

user1493494961 · 16/01/2022 17:22

Neil.
