What middle name would you pair with this girl's name?

I mean OUT there, not POUT there

Jaysus..

(Sorry OP)

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/01/2022 17:38

OUT there, not out there, that’ll be Salome..

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/01/2022 17:37

Something simple and classic as Selah is a bit pout there, fairly long sound for contrast, no ‘ah’ endings. Abigail might be a bit of a religion pile on, but the rest are more general.

Elizabeth
Constance
Abigail
Katherine
Penelope
Emily
Rosalind
Evelyn
Frances
Caroline
Etc

Selah Talitha works and it's a nice biblical name too

@ineedsun

Apologies *@LublinToDublin* it really wasn’t - I thought you were hilarious!
Thanks @ineedsun if only I had been that witty Grin
@ineedsun It just came across that you were laughing at someone because they were querying the pronunciation. No reference to another thread at all.
It appeared quite condescending with no explanation.
I didn't know of the other thread when I asked the question @inappropriaterasberry and did think
@ineedsun
was mocking my lack of knowledge.
It makes sense in context and I would have liked to have claimed that I was being as witty as ineedsun assumed but I was merely confused all round Blush.
Glad I understand now 🙂

ineedsun · 16/01/2022 09:59

Not at all, the other thread was in active conversations a lot yesterday and very busy so a lot of people saw and contributed to it. The poster who mentioned pronunciation seemed to be referencing it, it was a funny reference given how busy the other thread was and the number of different ways people can pronounce it.

People aren’t always being dicks you know?

@inappropriateraspberry

Well I haven't seen that thread. Don't assume.
Why the attitude? You asked a question, you got an answer.

It wasn’t funny because of the pronunciation but because it’s an unusual name with two threads about it in two days.

ineedsun · 16/01/2022 08:28
@ineedsun Why is that funny? I don't know the pronunciation either. I've never come across this name before. Assuming biblical from previous comments.
It could be See-la or Shu-la, or something else!
Because there was a huge thread about how to pronounce the name yesterday (or Friday) with lots of disagreement. I assumed the poster was referring to that.

TwentyFirstCenturyTricoteuse · 16/01/2022 07:40

Selah Sue

Flutterflybutterby · 16/01/2022 01:44

Thank you for the suggestions, some lovely ones! Keep them coming! Smile

I prefer Say-lur, slightly, I think, but am worried people might think I named my child 'Sailor' which is very cool and modern and so not at all me Grin

Flutterflybutterby · 16/01/2022 01:36

Hello! The word is pronounced 'See-luh' but as a name it's commonly pronounced 'Say-luh'. We like both and haven't decided on the pronunciation we'd use yet Smile

There was another huge thread about this yesterday
Maybe the OP could link and it would explain how to pronounce it

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 16/01/2022 00:47

Selah Rebecca? I’m not sure of the biblical spelling sorry

Aerielview · 15/01/2022 23:54

Selah Jane
Selah Rose

Opinion4321 · 15/01/2022 23:41

Grace not grave! Sorry terrible autocorrect!

Opinion4321 · 15/01/2022 23:41

I didn’t know how it was pronounced either. I presumed like ‘seller’. If that’s the case, I’d avoid a middle name that sounds anything like ‘brate’.

Seleh Grave is lovely.

inappropriateraspberry · 15/01/2022 23:37

Well I haven't seen that thread. Don't assume.

Because there is another thread discussing how its pronounced.

I think the general opinion was cellar - as in below stairs.
