SleepingStandingUp · 14/01/2022 12:50

Why not put together a random collection of letters to make a nice sound instead of using a backwards word?

Shaboodigah
Elagardee
Oberlee
Ahdahdabee

TonkinLenkicks · 14/01/2022 12:48

@KirstenBlest wins the internet for today.

DefyingSanity · 14/01/2022 12:48

How about X Æ A-12 I've never known any child with that name. Oh wait...damn Elon Musk stole my baby name!

DefyingSanity · 14/01/2022 12:46

Stoidiybdeman

Mundra · 14/01/2022 12:36

Levon is already a name! (albeit Armenian)

DropYourSword · 14/01/2022 12:12

@SeanChailleach

I mean novel as new.
Surely Levon should be your first choice
SeanChailleach · 14/01/2022 12:01

@CheshireCats

1 out of ten..... must try harder
Why must I try harder? What would I get more marks for?

@Blubells

Not very original Hmm
Can you give me some examples of names you think are more original?

@ThirdElephant

If you're thinking of setting it a bit closer to home, possibly Boswell? I see him as a middle-aged post office manager living in a small town- the type where all the buildings are up a short flight of steps because of the lay of the land they've been built on.
Dear God, don't start up Boswell again. Grin It was like some kind of terrible alternative universe full of men going up steps (or down? I've deliberately blotted out the details!), not to mention the OP's insistence that this was some hilariously witty apercu from her ILs or boyfriend's family, and definitely not a hoax.
SeanChailleach · 14/01/2022 11:52

Also, have you considered Balonz? He'd make a good protagonist in a dystopian future fic, I think.

ThirdElephant · 14/01/2022 11:27

When and where is your novel set? What genre?

KirstenBlest · 14/01/2022 11:26

Stoidiybdeman

KirstenBlest · 14/01/2022 11:22

I was going to suggest
Rebecca
Emma
Emily
Jane Eyre...

Blubells · 14/01/2022 09:45

Not very original Hmm

SleepingStandingUp · 14/01/2022 09:45

When you say novel names do you mean as characters in a book? If it's Sci fi / fantasy yo u can get away with names like this but you'd need a good rationale for why each character was given a backwards word

CheshireCats · 14/01/2022 09:45

1 out of ten..... must try harder

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 14/01/2022 09:43

Newdawn
Sunlit
One
Nine

Confused
DropYourSword · 14/01/2022 09:42

I’m generally not a fan of backwards words as names.
