Opinions on this name for a baby boy?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't mind it. While I don't think Harvey is super popular, it does fit within the current boys name trend of fairy traditional names ending in an 'eee' sound.

Harvey is a common enough name that I don't think Weinstein makes it unusable as there are many other associations too - some people will immediately think Weinstein, but I didn't, I thought Katie Price and her son. I don't see this as a 'bad' association, Katie is not perfect and not everyone likes her, but it's widely accepted that she has been a wonderful mother to Harvey.

Lovely. I also know a very nice teenager with the name.

As for associations, you can't control that. Things change. Take my 44 year old friend Alexa, for example. Still a lovely name which she likes it's her identity. And there's always an idiot or two, and you have no control over those anyway. Go for it I'd say.

Cocopogo · 13/01/2022 07:27

Awful

Snowiscold · 13/01/2022 07:26

I quite like it. I know a super one in his 20s. He’s quite posh, so it has those vibes to me.

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 13/01/2022 07:25

Kids won't think of Harvey Weinstein and adults who do make the connection, will make it once and move on. I think its a nice name.

I have seen my name (uncommon but not unique) on these threads with comments adamant they will get referred to as x y z or random old celeb, it's never happened, definitely not by my school friends, if adults did think it they never said anything, obviously.

AwkwardSquad · 13/01/2022 07:16

I really like Harvey, it has positive associations for me too, from my childhood - lovely lad with that name who’s grown up into an even lovelier man

Luckingfovely · 13/01/2022 06:06

It's an okay name for a dog.

Riverlee · 13/01/2022 04:55

I quite like it.

Kanaloa · 13/01/2022 01:39

It’s nice. Reminds me of Harvey Specter. I used to look after a couple of little boys called Harvey at one point but I don’t know any now. I really don’t see any reason whatsoever that it would be considered ‘tacky and awful.’ It’s just a normal boys name.

Bussinbussin · 13/01/2022 01:35

I don't mind it but prefer Henry.

Woahbodyforrrrm · 13/01/2022 01:32

I know a lovely little boy called Harvey.

Weinstein is not the first thing I think of when I hear the name 😳.

I like the name. I like names that you don't hear too often and I only know one Harvey so that's a plus for me!

Rubyyyy · 13/01/2022 01:28

Makes me think of Katie price and so solid crew.

notangelinajolie · 13/01/2022 01:25

Weinstein. No don't do it to him.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 13/01/2022 01:23

I quite like it.

Changethetoner · 12/01/2022 23:46

Please be aware of how people will pronounce that name. Some people drop their haitches, and the name will sound like "Aarvy". If you like that, go ahead.

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/01/2022 23:42

Weinstein?

It’s Ok.

Poshjock · 12/01/2022 23:26

I like Harvey as a name but then I work with a chap called Harvey (he's in his early 30s) and he's just the loveliest person, so helpful and polite. It's hard not to have a good association.

Also Harvey is my most favorite film ever.

Player20868 · 12/01/2022 22:57

White Rabbits (from the classic film), or Harvey Keitel.I only knew one Harvey in real life and he most definitely was not posh!

DramaAlpaca · 12/01/2022 22:53

No, not good.

Wallawallakoala · 12/01/2022 22:53

I liked it until people reminded me it was Katie Price's son's name

LadyLolaRuben · 12/01/2022 22:52

I like Harvey especially years ago when it was considered quite posh

user1493494961 · 12/01/2022 22:51

Harvey's OK, not tacky (used to be considered quite posh).

IAmSantaOhYesIAm · 12/01/2022 22:39

I know a lovely lad called Harvey so have a nice association with it.
It’s not getting much love on here though!!
Names are very much personal choice and you go with what you like.

UserBot989 · 12/01/2022 22:37

I prefer Jayden, at least Jay for short is kind of instinctive. With Harvey, ''harr'' sounds ridiculous.

Keeping2ChevronsApart · 12/01/2022 22:21

Well it's not as bad as Jayden...
