Or has it had its day? Debating with DP.

Definitely a dog’s name!

emmathedilemma · 07/01/2022 09:46

I think it's awful, and also the name of every other cockapoo in the park! If you called a child, 20 dogs would come running too!

Chunkymenrock · 07/01/2022 08:36

Luna sounds like Loony, so it's the opposite to 'fresh' to me. Avoid at all costs.

Ceramide · 07/01/2022 08:33

Had its day IMO. Lena?

Riverlee · 07/01/2022 08:29

If you like it, use it.

Ginpostersyndrome · 07/01/2022 08:26

I think it sounds fresh still. The oldest I know is 13 and I know very few so maybe that's why I think that. I really like it.

ofwarren · 07/01/2022 08:21

I'd say it has peaked too. Nice name though imo.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 07/01/2022 08:18

I'd say it has peaked.

ShowOfHands · 07/01/2022 08:17

So many cats and dogs called Luna here. Plus my baby niece and a friend's toddler. If by fresh, you mean uncommonly used, Luna is not the name you want.

nannybeach · 07/01/2022 08:17

Name of my border collie

Nitgel · 07/01/2022 08:15

1980s tv show with Patsy Kensit as Luna. Was a bit odd really. It does make u think of lunatic

dementedpixie · 07/01/2022 08:14

It was our cats name until we found out they were a boy and had to change it

KirstenBlest · 07/01/2022 08:10

No.

Bessica1970 · 07/01/2022 06:45

When I read the thread title I thought it was about Luna period pants from Sainsbury’s still feeling fresh after a certain amount of time!
Definitely would use it for a name. Likely to get called loopy Luna in school if HP is still popular then

thewhatsit · 07/01/2022 06:45

I’ve only known, and a very tenuous link at that, one child called Luna and she’d probably be about 13 by now.

Apparently it’s popularity is increasing year on year still so you definitely couldn’t say it sounded very 10 years a go etc.

KiloWhat · 07/01/2022 06:36

No but if you love it don't let that stop you.

becca3210 · 07/01/2022 06:26

I actually like it!

TequilaBlaze · 07/01/2022 06:22

No. It's very 2005.

334bu · 07/01/2022 06:18

We had a cat called Luna.

Kanaloa · 07/01/2022 06:14

Hard for me to say because I’ve never really been keen on it. I only know two child Lunas though. Which sounds a lot but as I work with children I’ve heard lots of names.

It does call Harry Potter to mind for me. Not necessarily a bad association just my only association. And the word loony.

bcc89 · 07/01/2022 06:08

I worked at a vet. It's a pet name... excessively!!

Needaholiday101 · 07/01/2022 05:55

I know 4 dogs with this name. Definitely more of a pet name.

CherryMaple · 07/01/2022 05:16

I know a dog and a cat called Luna. I don’t know any humans called Luna.

BingIsAMassiveTwat · 07/01/2022 05:08

I know 3 pre schoolers and a baby, plus 2 dogs. It's very popular but I just don't like it!

Undertheoldlindentree · 07/01/2022 05:06

I know a small girl and three dogs with this name. I think it will date quite badly.
