Boys Names Shortlist: Help make it shorter!

Hi all

We are completely stuck on boys names! I'm going to be induced next week with our second DS and we have a short list but don't really have any that we think is 'the one'

We already have one DS who is 2 and has an 'ie' name (think Charlie).

What do people think of the below list? Any favourites or additions along these lines? We want something that is not particularly common (but we both do like Jack!) but not too unusual!

You said to shorten it so here's my shortened version!

Jack - so so boring because it is everywhere. However, you both like it so that is a big plus
Mack - indifferent, keep on list
Percy - dislike, joke wimpy cartoon character type name
Miles - nice, keep on list
Morgan - dislike a lot
Avery - not my style, I think aviary, but many do like it and nothing wrong with it
Hudson - brown mucky river
Huxley - start of it sounds like someone throwing up
Cooper - I think of horses and it doesn't sound nice
Ashton - fine, keep on list
Otis - fine, keep on list, don't think it is quite popular enough to very obviously date

Cooper and Ashton are the only ones I like from your list, but then I tend to like more traditional names.

I have an Andrew and a Russell, and I am so happy with my choices. They're 2 and 3 now and go to 3 childcare settings between them and we haven't known of any other children with the same names at any of their nurseries so far, and I imagine that will be the same through school.

I would cut
Mack (doesn’t sound like a real name)
Morgan
Huxley ( I think there was a cartoon called Huxley Pig)
Percy ( same reason)

I like Jack, Mack and Otis

If you like not common, I would go for Mack ( I think it wouldn't go down too well generally on MN though)

Really really dislike Huxley, Hudson, Ashton, Avery and Cooper

Jack or Miles from that list.
I like Ruben, but perhaps that’s a bit unusual for you.
I think it’s best to wait and see which name suits him.
