Boys

Arthur - ok, quite overused. Hate Art.
Bodhi - bit daft, but don't hate it.
Elias/Eli - cannot stand Eli, the ultimate whine of a name, sorry.
Fletcher - No.
Fraser - great
James - great, good short forms too.
Marley - no
Ozzy - short for Oscar is a great choice, you get cool plus the classic option
Rez - no
Spencer - ok. Classic and underused, I want to love it but don't actually like the sound very much.
Teddy - feels daft and babish as the full name
Tommy - ok if Thomas, again just a bit babyish for an adult
Vinnie - if Vincent, yes

Girls

Cali - if short for Caroline yes
Delilah - ok
Elsie - depressing, also the retro granny names now sound a bit over.
Florence - like
Marley - no
Nancy - lovely
Noa - no
Norah - no
Oliana - no
Penelope - lovely
Ronnie - no

You've got a good few names in there that would be brilliant as short forms of longer classic names. Go down this road, as you get the name you like plus they get options!

felulageller · 07/01/2022 06:05

Arthur old man boring
Bodhi cool
Elias/Eli good quite biblical
Fletcher ok quite American, the boy in liar liar
Fraser good

Marley fine
Nancy stop copying David Cameron!

Norah fine
Oliana great but might get asked of russian

Ginpostersyndrome · 02/01/2022 11:21

nightdune · 02/01/2022 10:44

BOYS

Eli is the boys name we have picked out, so of course I love it!

I find Arthur, James and Tommy a bit plain. Bodhi sounds like a child trying to say Brody to me. Teddy would work on a baby but I can't imagine it on any other age. Not a fan of Fraser, Ozzy or Vinnie. I like the others.

GIRLS

The only names I don't like are Elsie, Nancy and Norah. I adore Penelope and Noa! I've never heard of Oliana but it's lovely. Delilah in the Bible wasn't a good person, so that's something to be mindful of, though I still really like the name.

bluechameleon · 02/01/2022 10:16

Arthur, Eli and James for the boys. I also like Tommy and Teddy but would use Thomas/Edward to give a more grown up option. I really like Florence and Penelope, and quite like Norah too.

Nathlash · 02/01/2022 10:00

I only like Elias/Eli, Arthur, Nancy and Norah.

Lamont77 · 02/01/2022 10:00

Arthur - lovely name, like nn Art, getting more popular though.
Bodhi - bit hippy, not really a fan, can't imagine shouting Bodhi in for his dinner.
Elias/Eli - nice
Fletcher - nice
Fraser - good, strong name
James - strong name, can't go wrong. Not keen on Jamie tho.
Marley - don't like.
Ozzy - like as a nn, not sure about full name. Also feel like not anyone could be an Ozzy, so might not suit them.
Rez - not a fan.
Spencer - nice
Teddy - not a fan.
Tommy - nice.
Vinnie - OK.

Girls

Cali - fine.
Delilah - again, can't imagine opening the door and shouting Delilahhhh!
Elsie - OK.
Florence - OK.
Marley - don't like.
Nancy - OK.
Noa - OK.
Norah - don't like.
Oliana - don't like.
Penelope - like this.
Ronnie - don't like.

DropYourSword · 02/01/2022 09:56

Out of your list I don’t mind:

Boys

Fletcher
Spencer

Girls

Not keen on any Blush

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/01/2022 09:53

Arthur - I like it but it is too popular for me. Would make a lovely middle name

Bodhi - i like it, but think you would need a certain personality to pull it off. It wouldn't suit all teenage boys / men

Elias/Eli - I really like it. Love Eli as a NN and Elias or Elijah as the full name

Fletcher - I usually don't like surnames as first names but I do live Fletcher

Fraser - not a fan. I just think of the TV show

James - lovely classic

Marley - not a fan at all, seems very faddy

Ozzy - ok as a NN for Oscar but not as a given name. Like Bodhi I think you would need to be a certain type of person to pull it off

Rez - awful

Spencer - not a fan

Teddy - awful. I really don't get the love

Tommy - Thomas yes but I can't stand Tommy

Vinnie - not for me

Cali - I like it but spelt Callie
Delilah - lovely
Elsie - I like but again wouldn't suit everyone
Florence - love it but too popular for me
Marley - dislike
Nancy - dislike
Noa - no, everybody would assume she's a boy
Norah - beautiful
Oliana - it's ok
Penelope - nice enough just not for me
Ronnie - I like as a NN for Veronica

somethingobscure · 01/01/2022 21:08

CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 01/01/2022 21:00

I like Tommy and Cali but none of the others

moomace23 · 01/01/2022 20:56

@groovergirl

Fraser James Marley (I am a Bob fan; are you? If not, avoid it.)

Nora (no h, not necessary, looks silly)
Penelope
Florence

I don't like the others, sorry. Some are just cutesy, dated nicknames rather than proper names. Maybe consider Thomas and Vincent, and, for a girl, Veronica nn Ronnie or Caroline/Carolyn nn Cali, or consider Carly or Carla.

@groovergirl definitely a Bob fan!!
