Sibling name to complement Rosie and Poppy

Dd3 due in April and we're struggling for a name. We have a Rosemary (Rosie) and a Poppy already so a botanic/nature name is tempting but perhaps too cliché. Would love to hear your suggestions ☺️

If she is born in April then the name April?

Or a precious stone theme, Ruby? Garnet?

A seasonal name like Summer or Autumn?

Theoldwoman · 29/12/2021 10:01

With Rosie and Poppy, I would consider:

Laura
Annabel
Juliet
Amelia

inmyslippers · 29/12/2021 10:01

Matilda obviously

If you deliberately go for a matching name then it's going to sound too twee - I think you should choose the name you like the most and disregard how well it goes with the other names - I'd obviously make sure it doesn't clash or sound silly with them.

imjustanerd · 29/12/2021 09:55

Holly

inappropriateraspberry · 29/12/2021 09:53

Veronica a is actually a plant and would be a nice non-obvious connection.
Violet
Hazel
Jasmine
Bryony/Briony
Daisy
Elowan (Cornish)
Fern
Olive
Clover
Marigold

There is no red theme. Rosemary isn't red. Poppies aren't always red. If anything, there's a remembrance theme, which could be continued by choosing Myrtle or another plant name associated with remembrance. I'm not keen on Myrtle, personally. Lily would be the super obvious choice for this theme, which is probably a bit morbid for baby names!

I like flower/nature names. I knew a woman years ago whose three daughters were May, Rowan and Hazel, which I think is a pleasing combination of three lovely names.

Tansy
Iris
Heather
Ivy
Daisy
Marguerite (means Daisy)
Violet
Viola
Fern

Lily and jasmine are lovely flowers but the names are very overused.

I knew a woman called Dahlia once, rather a lovely name and a beautiful flower, but a lot of people would be unable to spell it from hearing it said, or pronounce it from seeing it written down, which would irritate me immensely.

Might have already been suggested and you've probably thought if it already but what about April. Due in a April and a nice name.
