Which should we go for and why? Aidan or Isaac.
DS is three weeks old and I can’t decide which suits better.

Hi op, just that it's a name phenomenon that has been discussed a lot on reddit and memes have been made about it.
AFAIK the same does not apply to Isaac as a name.

Isaac

Driposaurus · 30/12/2021 13:32

I think they’re both nice, would probably go over Aidan first but: does one provide initials which are trickier to deal with than another?

RedRobin100 · 30/12/2021 13:20

Aidan

I’m due in April and if it’s a boy It will likely be Aidan

Jtb5790 · 30/12/2021 13:10

Isaac

Well the positive thing is there’s clearly love for both names!
@MondayYogurt - how do you mean a ‘meme name’?

Aiden has become somewhat of a meme name recently.

Friolero · 29/12/2021 16:51

Definitely Isaac, it's much nicer!

OldaRailer · 29/12/2021 16:48

I've always liked Aidan.
Both nice names though imo.

schnubbins · 29/12/2021 16:46

Aidan

Brumchum · 29/12/2021 16:42

Isaac

PizzasPlease · 29/12/2021 16:39

I love both but if had to choose I'd go for Aidan.

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/12/2021 16:36

I prefer Aidan.

Isaac's seem to be everywhere and whilst it's a lovely name it's becoming a bit meh due to popularity

Aidan has a slight dated feel but that doesn't bother me, it's a lovely, and currently underused name

MinnieJackson · 28/12/2021 15:11

Aiden

OrangeAndYellowAndBlue · 28/12/2021 15:08

I would definitely go for Aidan. I hear of a lot of toddlers called Hayden and Jayden and things, but not Aidan - which is tons nicer and more substantial.

Isaac is really nice too, but I know a lot of kids and teens with Jacob/Noah/Isaac type Old Testament names, so it feels a bit of its time for me (late 90s to early 2000s). Whereas Aidan had been used over a couple of generations now, without getting too popular.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 28/12/2021 14:57

Both lovely names.
I'd go for Aidan

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/12/2021 14:38

That’s exactly how I feel about Isaac.

Blackberrybunnet · 28/12/2021 11:45

Both lovely names, Isaac a bit Biblical, Aidan a bit Celtic, so depends which way you want to go. It would be a lot easier to choose if we knew the surname (not asking you to post it tho)

RuthW · 28/12/2021 11:22

Isaac. Aidan is very old fashioned and not a nice name.

MoominMeggy · 28/12/2021 09:25

Aidan - on my list. Lovely name.

Not keen on Isaac. Feels quite biblical to me, and really overdone. Zachary is similar but nicer and more unusual I think. But Aidan beats both my a mile.

headspin10 · 28/12/2021 07:58

I think they are both great names.
Does that help? 😬 Good taste!

Maybe if I HAD to choose I'd choose Isaac as I've loved that name for years. Let us know which you choose.

Mumofgirls2017 · 28/12/2021 06:47

Isaac

wingingit33 · 28/12/2021 00:58

Isaac reminds me of the old one in Hanson
