I really love both Alice and Grace and struggling to choose between the two. Please help me decide! Thanks everyone x

Alice. Most of the Graces I know have come from very religious families, so if you called your child Grace, my initial assumption would be that you were also very strongly Christian.

Chunkymenrock · 27/12/2021 13:58

I really dislike them both I'm afraid. Alice is very wet and boring, and Grace is dull and highly overused.

Enko · 27/12/2021 13:52

Never liked Alice so Grace for me

thisplaceisweird · 27/12/2021 13:51

How does the initial look with your last name? E.g. if your last name is hole then go for Grace

uncomfortablydumb53 · 27/12/2021 13:50

Alice

Alice.

I'd avoid Grace unless she's likely to be gracious or graceful

Pamlar · 27/12/2021 13:15

Alice.
Grace is also lovely but can be a lot to live up to

Grace!

PieMistee · 27/12/2021 02:48

I know two ungraceful Graces and as an ungraceful person always felt sorry for them!

mnetting · 27/12/2021 02:45

So many people saying Grace is over used!
I'm a school teacher in the South West and never had a Grace in my class. Maybe it's a regional thing but I know a few Alice's but I'm not a fan.
Love Grace though it's gorgeous.

DramaAlpaca · 27/12/2021 01:37

I much prefer Alice, I really love this name.

I'm not fond of the harsh 'Gr' sound in Grace, though of course the meaning is beautiful.

AnnaMarieQ · 27/12/2021 01:33

Grace for me

FoggySpecs · 27/12/2021 01:29

Alice

Nancydrawn · 27/12/2021 00:51

Alice, no question.

Luredbyapomegranate · 26/12/2021 22:26

Both nice, and popular.

I’d base it on what sounds best w your surname.

MamaWeasel · 26/12/2021 22:09

I like Grace better, Alice makes me think of the verger from The Vicar of Dibley

DukkaTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 26/12/2021 22:05

Probably Alice as Grace is massively over used, feels like it’s everywhere.

Evanna13 · 26/12/2021 21:09

I prefer Grace.

MalagaNights · 26/12/2021 20:59

Grace feels a bit more of a standard for the past 20 years following a revival, so less classic.

Alice feels a little bit spare/minimalist, & fresher as not had quite the revival Grace had.

I love Alice.

Grace

Grace always reminds me of the religious undertones - and I went to school with a Grace who was anything but graceful. Lovely, hilarious, wonderful, but she always found her name hard to reconcile with who she was.

Alice feels less 'loaded' to me.
