BHX3000 · 23/12/2021 13:21

I love Noa, Brooke and Billie are nice too

Fivebeanchilli · 23/12/2021 13:11

Emmy - I like this but prefer it as a nn for Emmeline
Reese - no, I can't understand the appeal of traditionally male names for girls
Rae - don't like it.
Nuala - ok
Nancy - lovely
Nellie / Nell - lovely
Noa - ok
Betsy - nice
Nora - ok
Brooke - don't like at all. Very 80s
Billie - no don't like
Marla - don't like

Nancy, Betsy, Nell or Emmy are all lovely

SundayTeatime · 23/12/2021 12:40

I only like Nancy, Betsy (if short for Elizabeth) and Nell (if short for Eleanor, Helen etc). None of the others.

Luredbyapomegranate · 23/12/2021 12:38

Like
Emmy - not on its own - too baby. But as diminutive for Emma, Emmeline, Emily, Emilia - all good.

Nancy - great
Nellie / Nell - nice, ideally as a diminutive for Eleanor or Penelope though
Betsy - nice, it really is a diminutive of Elizabeth though, so I'd call her that.
Brooke - nice and simple

OK
Noa - it is nice, but it will be endlessly confused with Noah.

Billie - I quite like it, it's just very nicknamey, also if I were here I would feel my parents wanted a boy
Nora - it's a marmite name and I don't like it, so I would personally call her the more universally liked Eleanor, and use it as a diminutive, in case she doesn't either
Nuala - also marmite - it's short for Finnuala / Finola - I'd use this as a full name to give her options

Don't like
Reese - it's a boy's name! (a phonetic spelling of Rhys)
Rae - made up / makes me think of a depressed barmaid from 1970
Marla - ditto

Thanks everyone, I'm hoping it's true what they say and I'll just know when I meet her... Confused

I vote for Nora.

DotDotDotDotDot · 23/12/2021 12:24

I’d choose Nancy from your current list. Suggestions are Sadie, Hazel and Eliza.

20viona · 23/12/2021 12:10

Marla or nell

DramaAlpaca · 23/12/2021 12:07

We have very different taste in names so I won't comment on your list other than to say that I like Emmy as a diminutive of Emmeline.

LozMarieFielder · 23/12/2021 12:03

Emmy - agree with pp would be great nn for Emmeline
Reese - prefer it on a boy, and even then I’m not keen
Rae - quite like
Nuala - I knew someone with this name, always thought it was pretty
Nancy - this is my grandmother’s name so I’m biased but I love it
Nellie/Nel - only as a nn for Penelope
Noa - meh, prefer Noah for a boy
Betsy - not a fan, would be alright as a nn for something though
Nora - again not a fan but I see why people like it
Brooke - it’s okay
Billie - not bad, much better than Billy
Marla - not a fan of the ‘marl’ sound, which is why I also can’t stand Marley

Some suggestions:
Brooklyn
Lois
Pearl
Blythe
Ida
Margot
Jada
Birdie
Elsie
Sadie
Bronwyn
Edie
Hallie
Blair
