Robyn vs Sylvie vs Elowen

Surname is a colour so quite short.

Thinking woodland, nature, etc but Willow and Rowan feel too used may be.

Sylvie I like but quite girly

Robyn - so fits in with local tradition of naming daughter with same initial as father. Also happens to be first part grandmother’s maiden name plus appropriate for time of year.

Elowen - I love this on paper, looks good with surname but I’m just not too sure I like the actual proper Cornish pronunciation which is Elooen or El-Oh-wen as opposed to nicer sounding American EL-i-win (my best attempt at being phonetic) 😳

Sylvie for sure.

All nice

Robin is my clear favourite, especially given the time of year. I prefer it spelt like this though, Robyn is an annoying 70s invention. It’s a gender neutral name

Elowen
I love it but she’ll end up one of 6 billion Ellies Ellas and Elles. I think it’ll be said ELL-OH-win whether you like it or not.

Sylvia
It’s pretty but a bit twee as you say. Sylvia?

Other thoughts - Ffion, Stella, Briar, Jasmine, Astra, Aster

I vote Robyn. Lovely name and the meaning and links make it extra special

Robyn might sound dodgy with the surname

Sylvie is nowhere near as bad as Sylvia

Elowen will be mispronounced by a lot of people - the stress is on the middle syllable not the first. She'll probably be yet another Ellie

Robin nicer than Robyn, the y spelling is a bit strange.

Agree - Sylvia (or Sylvie, tho not so nice IMHO) could not be more woodlandy. As you know, it means 'of the forest' or (as I once heard it, rather poetically) 'lady of the forsest'.

Sylvie is lovely. Sylvia is even nicer.
