What do we think of the name Argon? I think it sounds noble but DH says he associates it with the far right!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've never heard a teacher say anything bad about Neon. So bright and odourless; what's not to love?

Flutterflybutterby · 18/12/2021 04:04

@DropYourSword

I thought “washing machines live longer with Argon”?!
Me too Grin
MotherChristmas2021 · 18/12/2021 01:34

I read that as Argos.

AdaColeman · 18/12/2021 01:20

He’d never become a High Court Judge with a name like Argon, but he might become a welder 👨‍🏭!

EasyBreezy · 18/12/2021 01:15

Its a bit inert

KloppsTeeth · 18/12/2021 00:58

If you’re going for a gassy theme, how about

Argon Uranus?

He could be a gas giant of a man.

Corbally · 18/12/2021 00:07

@BingoLingFucker

It’s noble alright.
Oh, get you. Grin
PrismGuile · 18/12/2021 00:01

Is he a dragon? Or a noble Gas?

MushMonster · 17/12/2021 23:59

Noble, complete and right it is, but as much as I like it, I think I would go for something with more value, with a lustrous polished finish, even precious, Aurum for a boy, Argenta for a girl. I like the foreign sound of it.

Dinosaurwoman · 17/12/2021 23:59

Won’t he be a bit of a lightweight?

Shmithecat2 · 17/12/2021 23:59

@MoorGirl

Noble indeed! Wink
😂😂😂😂

OP, it's a gas. No. Just no.

Justkeeppedaling · 17/12/2021 23:57

Rutherfordium. NN Rutherford.

@PoinsettaPrincess

😂😂. Do people have nothing else to do but post inane threads?
Evidently you don't either.Grin

Notatwite · 17/12/2021 23:51

I’m not keen. What about Argos?

ErrolTheDragon · 17/12/2021 23:49

It means lazy in Greek. Not very aspirational.
If you want that sort of name for a high flyer, how about Helium?

thingymaboob · 17/12/2021 23:48

@Mumoftwoinprimary

Far less common than Oxygen or Nitrogen.
Grinthank you. I needed that, so funny!
BobMortimersTrout · 17/12/2021 23:44

@Goldrill

I suspect he may have trouble forming relationships. A bit full of himself with no internal requirement to interact with others.

Beryl? Selena? Samar?

argonmummy · 17/12/2021 23:29

@SoftSheen

Have you considered any names that are a bit more lefty (this is Mumsnet). Maybe Rubidium, nn Ruby?
It's definitely on our list if it's a girl, along with Antimony which I've also seen suggested here!
